south main public art
SCULPTURE COMPETITION studioMAIN, a design non-profit, is seeking artists to help initiate the Public Arts Master Plan in the eclectic downtown Little Rock neighborhood of SoMa. We invite artists to submit proposals for original sculptures for installation along South Main Street, the primary thoroughfare of the neighborhood. The winning works will fulfill the public arts component of our Master Plan. Participating artists have the option to compete in one of two tiers of our competition. The first tier’s prize is $10,000 (all-inclusive) for the creation of a large, permanent “gateway” sculpture to welcome visitors and residents to the SoMa neighborhood. The second tier has two $7,500 prizes (all-inclusive), with the option available to the artist to choose among three locations along the streetscape. A jury composed of SoMa representatives and members of Little Rock’s art community will adjudicate our competition.
