DESIGN
there are three driving ideas for the airport of the future. firstly structural repetition. using repeating structural
systems manufacturing and construction time is greatly
reduced, and expansion is easy. secondly inter-modes of transportation allow for airports to reduce in size due
to the connectivity with major cities, hotels, and shopping
districts. lastly technological advances such as qr codes,
and smart phones allow the ticketing and security processes to be automated, greatly reducing program space and increasing efficiency.

ZONE 1 -VAV (VARIABLE AIR VOLUME)
The lobby and accessory program spaces which service the Black Box and Proscenium Theater are conditioned by a Variable Air Volume System. An Indoor packaged Unit located on the first floor in a mechanical room contains components including Chiller/ Air Conditioner, Air Handler, Air Filters & Outdoor Exhaust. The unit conditions 1st, 2nd and Third levels through a mechanical cause. A VAV System was used for benefits including self-balancing and temperature control. The system is accompanied by FAN-COIL TERMINALS which eliminates fan rooms and allows for individual space temperature control.
LEVEL 3 +
ZONE 2 & 3 - CV (CONSTANT AIR VOLUME) The Black box and Proscenium Theater are conditioned by a Constant Air Volume system. A rooftop packaged unit forces fresh air through supply ducts into the space, then return ducts exhaust air. A CV system was used for control of air quality, and simplicity.
ZONE 4 - GAS FURNACE / RESIDENTIAL
