Cut – An Experimental Film Cut is an experimental film that primarily looks at UK banned films from 1926 to 2014. Found footage is used in a collage, rapid motion which creates a new juxtaposition of censored imagery. The abstract nature of the imagery at first questions the ideas of the censored footage by the pixelation, but as the music increases in its continuity so does the imagery becoming uncensored.

Cut – Book This book is a documentation of the film ‘Cut’ by experimental filmmaker James Pentland. It explains detailed contextual analysis of both historical and contemporary practices which have heavily influenced the experimental film ‘Cut’. The book acts as a supporting document, describing the process which is split up into three different parts. These parts are all crucial to the argument put forward, allowing the viewer an in-depth knowledge of the reasoning behind the film footage used and why they were banned.

Binary Code This project focused on the expression of vivid colour through the changing and manipulating of binary codes. The glitched imagery is edited from light paintings taken from an iPhone and reprocessed to create an experimental juxtaposition of imagery. A short film and a one off poster has been created, to show new digital technology through different mediums.

A Distorted Reality The film looks into aesthetic distortion within a video to express censorship of how society is portrayed through a visual medium. The technical judgement of distorting advertising imagery shows as an aesthetically pleasing means of interpreting distortion through a designer’s view.

Typography – Grammar This project focused on the perception of grammar and how it is shown through society as portraying bad habits. The deviations of this can be shown through the audio perception of language and how this deviates through the means of social media and consumers. These posters are meant to emphasise the underlying issue of text language and open up a discussion for the audience member to partake in.

raphic design may be considered a commercial form of visualisation on a business level but I like to think of it as a opportunity for creative exploitation, to channel ones satisfaction of being creative, both actively and productively on a more subconscious level towards the client. Not just for ones self indulgences but also to fit someone else’s requirements and needs, whether related to a branding, publication, advertising etc. It all has a reason, a purpose, a justification, all to make ends meet. But why not take that opportunity to place your own eyeful signature upon that brief, to bend the rule book until it splinters into something destructive but inspiring. Breaking the norm to produce fresh and provoking imagery. That is the purpose of which the contents of this publication strives for. The students behind each piece have their own graphically persistent characteristics and style that must be celebrated. To showcase the individuality of each creative mind who has put their work forward. That is the purpose of this publication. We hope you enjoy it.
Fresh Publication Fresh is a bi-annual publication that displayed Graphic Design work from students at UCA Epsom. I art directed a small group of students to create a coherent and clean style to portray the visual imagery of students work.

y work as a Graphic Designer focuses on many processes such as a variety of print making methods, Collage and Fashion photography. I find being able to experiment with a range of materials and methods has made my ideas and focuses diverse and more exciting. Aiming to produce original pieces of Graphic Design, using culture especially, as a base to grow my ideas and concepts within my areas of interest.

aving studied Graphic Design BA(Hons) at UCA Epsom, I have found through projects and independent practice, that photography and illustration are where my skills are strongest. Having the ablility to do both, has allowed me to develop a style where photography and illustration can be merged, in the process of applying themes of ‘symmetry and balance’.

The Throne – Magazine The Throne magazine was designed by myself for fashion journalism graduate: Imahn Robertson-Josephs. The magazine entails the topic of luxury fashion brands and cars for women. The colour palette is subtle with soft pale pinks and black tonal hues. Whereas, the layout is minimal to keep in contrast with the journalism style that this magazine is high-end.

The Virgin Virtual Experience A live brief through the Heaven Company, placing third in a national competition to come up with a virtual experience for the employees of Virgin. Using the idea of smart disruption within Virgin, myself and Lauren Doyle decided to visualise an interactive experience for 45,000 employees. This involved printing an A6 invite globally in thirty different languages and using a responsive website to allow employees to engage with the scheme through a mobile and web experience. The scheme also allowed employees to track the progress of the countries visited by a van which was lenticular printed on.

Man Overboard Man Overboard is a 2014 Graduate show displaying work from students at UCA Epsom. As a team we worked on a story and narrative to discuss the notion of being lost at sea, slowly drifting away to different places and where our future paths would take us. With this concept, I worked on the curation, book, video & web design. It’s Nice That featured us as one of the strongest graphical identities for a degree show.
