The Awards ORGANIZATION/GROUP AWARDS

Emerging Student Organization of the Year Honoring an organization in years one to three of inception, this award recognizes a group that has contributed to the community, as well as taken proactive steps towards the growth and development of its membership.

Student Organization of the Year This award recognizes a student organization that has significantly contributed to the community, as well as contributed to the development, growth, and sustainability of its membership. The organization is dedicated to collaboration, innovative practices, inclusion, and the advancement of the student body. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

Student Affairs sTUdent Friendly Award This award is designated for a community member that has provided extraordinary service to the student community.


INDIVIDUAL AWARDS CONTINUED

Emerging Student Leader Honoring a first-year, sophomore, or transfer student, this award recognizes personal growth and exploration of the unfamiliar through exceptional leadership involvement in his/her communities.

Diversity & Inclusion Award (Individual & Organization) This award honors an individual and an organization that actively breaks down barriers and is committed to building a socially just space in the community.

Thurman Adkins “Unsung Hero” Award Thurman Adkins was a member of the Division of Student Affairs at Trinity University for 30+ years. Dr. Adkins advised student leaders with great respect, encouragement, and wisdom. The Thurman Adkins “Unsung Hero” Award recognizes a student who has made an unrecognized contribution to the community and goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Coleen Grissom Continued Commitment & Dedication Award Dr. Coleen Grissom, currently a professor of English, ended her student personnel career as vice president in the spring of 2000. Dr. Grissom is legendary not only for her engaging wit, but for her commitment to the Student Affairs division, the University, and community. The Coleen Grissom Continued Commitment & Dedication award honors students who have made a substantive contribution through long-term service and depth of involvement.

Alumni Association Student Service Awards The Trinity University Alumni Association recognizes two-three seniors each year for service to the University and for service to the San Antonio community. The awards are also presented at the Honor Awards Convocation during Spring Family Weekend.

These awards are presented to senior students whose contributions to their communities have been continuous, wide reaching, and of the highest caliber. These recipients have enhanced campus life by acting as role models and creating opportunities for others to lead.

The Roman M. Lubetzky KINDness Award This award recognizes a student who embodies and demonstrates the virtue of kindness, as well as a high level of scholarship. The Roman M. Lubetzky Endowment Fund for Kindness seeks to encourage the attributes of kindness and noble behavior as values among Trinity students.
