Yearling Bulls

Travis Foot is the fourth generation Foot to reside on the family ranch in Esther, Alberta with his wife Nichole and sons Ridge and Reid. 2022 marks the 112th year the family has resided in the short grass area in southeastern Alberta.

In 2000 Travis Foot purchased his first group of Charolais cows and made a conscious effort to concentrate on raising purebred Charolais in 2001, along with the commercial cowherd of his father’s. Having the commercial cowherd allowed him to remain connected to the grassroots & the needs of his bull customers.

For the first year, Footprint sold their bulls via private treaty but have since transitioned to an annual bull sale where they sell 70 - 90 bulls, featuring both yearlings and two-year-olds. To satisfy the needs of their customers, Footprint Farms has two calving programs for their Charolais herd where they calve a traditional January & Feb calving program for yearlings, and a grass calving program which focuses on raising two-year-old bulls.

In addition, Footprint Farm runs 300 commercial Red and Black Angus cows which are all bred to Charolais bulls.

Travis served 2 terms on the CCA board and would love to get back involved. Footprint Farms has been a supporter of Alberta events, from showing cattle in Farmfair International to buying cattle in AB/BC sales over the years. This young family is a staple in the Charolais community and deserves recognition as Purebred Breeder of the Year!
