Team Member — Moore Square Design Competition Chris Counts Studio · Constructed a site model of the square and physically iterated multiple proposals before selecting and rendering a final design. The square is a registered state historic site; writing the design statement was critical to winning jury favor. Responsible for all written components and all aspects of the design, layout and presentation of the submittal. Production assistant for renderings and participant in all interviews that won the contract. Our proposal was unanimously awarded First Place by a panel of jurors representing Raleigh City Council and the Department of Parks and Recreation. · Proposal with renderings

Reviewed historic maps and photographs; photodocumented existing conditions; generated maps of both historic and existing conditions; produced comparative analyses, integrity assessments, and treatment recommendations; wrote, edited and desktop-published final reports. · Major contributor to the cultural landscape reports for the following National Park Service sites: Vicksburg National Military Park – Vicksburg, MS; Park Road 4 – Burnet, TX; Central High School National Historic Site – Little Rock, AR; Ninety Six National Historic Site – Greenwood, SC; Grand Portage National Monument – Grand Portage, MN. · Completed cultural landscape assessments and treatment alternatives for Fairfax County, Virginia, including Frying Pan Farm Park, Laurel Hill House and Garden and Lamond House Garden Restoration. · Renderings and Schemes · Conducted documentary field work of existing conditions and prepared preservation plans, as administered by the Getty Foundation Campus Heritage Grants Program, for The University of Cincinnati and Clemson University. · One of two associates responsible for The Riverside Park Master Plan in Lynchburg, Virginia – a participatory process involving more than six public meetings, interviews with diverse special interest groups, engagement with friends groups and donors, and presentations to the City Council.
