Hi! I am JAMIL GHANEM I am passionate about design and curious about the interrelation between the environment & the architecture world

Skilled and art-oriented Interior Architect and Landscape Designer, I am interested in the variety of sectors entangled with architecture and the environment. In my design approaches and concepts, I’m always balancing between the technical aspects of a project and the eye-catching aesthetics. I am constantly looking to improve my professional and academic experiences. My former background in interior architecture has enabled me to break new ground towards the environment sector, especially landscape architecture. As a result, I was enrolled in a master’s research degree, entitled “Theory & approaches of the landscape project” in France. Interior Architecture & Landscaping design are subjectively more of a life-altering career choice, they both represent the discipline and life journey that I have undertaken over the last 10 years with passion and joy.

8 Goût 9- Bistro

About the project Goût 9 is located in Beirut, Lebanon’s capital city. This is a Bistro in the heart of the capital, in the immediate vicinity of the Embassy of France in Beirut, and it offers a variety of dishes inspired by French cuisine. The interior concept represents a casual look and a cosy atmosphere in which stands out between two open spaces, on both sides of the main entrance. The distribution of the space centered by a dominant barcounter in its layout in front of the main entrance, with a service hatch that gives to the kitchen and parts of the Bistrot. The objective was to make this Bistro a privileged place for students from neighbouring universities, French expatriates and residents. To make the most of the number of dishes served without compromising comfort, we suggested simple planning approach which consists of small tables, benches to be shared following a reduction of the area of the lost spaces. At the centre of each space, large sharing tables have been suggested, which can also reflect a convivial atmosphere. The main Parisian elevation sums up the spirit of Goût9, in a Lebanese neighbourhood where French culture is omnipresent.

About the project Located in Novosibirsk – Russia, Cyber Clan’s Arena is a café dedicated for Gamers. The concept will enable the ultimate social gaming experience with the most comfortable equipment, chairs, latest trends and games. The materials introduced for technical, cost-impact and aesthetic purposes, are carefully chosen to complement the industrial look & feel of the final project. Black metal materials were used in the custom-made furniture and fittings with the use of metal mesh. With regard to woodwork, we used light tone oak to highlight the contrast between materials and interior space. Clans Cyber Arena 13

The existing drywall claddings were dismantled prior to the development of the concept, revealing the authentic character of the space and the building that dates from the 1960s, the result includes brick walls and substantial interior height. The concept reveals an interior loft style with exposed electric and technical wires, and an exposed ventilation system designed with black painted round metal ducts, adding raw aesthetics. The project consists of 240 m2 interior space, divided between a bar area, an open space gaming zone, a projection zone, a VIP gaming zone, and a separate smoking lounge. Furnished Layout

About the project Located in the Eastern side of Beirut, the layout of this apartment required an optimal space saving to achieve a total interior area of 92 m2. The original space dedicated to the balconies was incorporated by means of the interior layout. It is a “turnkey” project covering all stages of a development project,

from

conception

to

implementation.

The space is entirely redesigned, it now highlights a living room with a bigger dining room in comparison with the original plans: 2 large bedrooms and a supplementary toilet proposed for the master bedroom, and an suggestion of a fully equipped kitchen with a hatch that leads to the dining room. The landlords of this apartment wanted to have a foothold in Beirut despite the Real estate speculations, in this respect, the solution has been to rethink and optimise the interior space in spite of the limited area.

About the project

“EQUILIBRIUM”, is a winning design for the competition 10.100.1000, part of «Beirut Design Week 2014», it is a design solution conceived to emphasis the essence integrity and coexistence through the balance between the negative and positive feelings. represents the paradox of those two sensations which cannot but to be balanced, the tear and the smile. The design reflected in its concept this balance, through the different finishes and materials; the contrast of the two used wood types making the

Cubic

- North of lebanon

About the project

From the outset, with its Cartesian Plan, this residential project is located in northern Lebanon and covers an area of 1210 m2. The cubic architectural volume is meticulously designed from the topography. The layouts of these adjoining buildings were embedded in the topography in collaboration with qualified topographers; the result is a simple commercial architectural volume that promotes the inter-relationship between interior spaces and outdoor spaces that overlook the spectacular panoramic views. Balconies and terraces are fused in the site and give onto the

In other words, contemplate nature through an architectural volume by adopting a naturalist approach and reduce the effects of the artificialization of the newly conceived volume. 38 Cubic

About the project

The aforementioned project is a private garden in Saudi Arabia measuring 800 m2. It offers an extension of a residence and an outdoor space for wellness and relaxation. It is a furnished terrace overlooking a central swimming pool surrounded by lawns and slopes dotted with various kinds of shrubs, for the purpose of creating a set of a wild xeric landscape. My main task was to examine the practicality as well as the aesthetic aspect to design this oasis.

About the project My final project in environement and landscaping architecture, an area of 1100 m2 and was originally a plot of a wasteland inside the Campus of the Lebanese University. The initiative is a manifesto against the status of this pitch, being a no-man-place, which justifies my approach of landscape transformation proposed and which consists of a revalorisation of the ground, which will be intended for the users and the students of the university. It is a place of pleasure proposed, a place of relaxation, a refuge which favors the conviviality. The program represents a wet zone in order to optimize biodiversity, with an addition of lawns and flowerbeds, while a wooden fence where we have grown climbing plant vegetation that is a continuity with the structure of proximity that is a giant structure for water tanks 48 Bigfoot
