AUCTION LOTS Lot 1 – A holiday for up to eight people at the Four Seasons Resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand Up to 10 days in a 4-bedroom penthouse suite at the Four Seasons Resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Lot 4 – A Holkham scene by Norfolk artist John Newland John Newland was born in 1936 in Norwich. He attended Norwich Art School, obtaining a National Diploma in Illustration. In 1999 he took early retirement to devote all his time to painting, he exhibits regularly at galleries and has work in the House of Lords. Most of John's paintings are a personal expression of his love for the rural and coastal landscapes of North Norfolk. Secure the chance to own one of his delightful original acrylic on board paintings tonight!
Lot 5 – A week in a New England Villa with Club Class British Airways flights to New York! Stay for 1 week in a charming 1860’s New England Summer Villa set in five acres with a pool and tree house, conveniently located for the picturesque New England villages of Bedford and Katonah. Forty-five minute drive to mid-town Manhattan. Also well situated in Westchester for the famous Hudson River sites of West Point, Cold Springs Harbour and the Roosevelt Family home of Hyde Park. Lot 6 – Two guns for a 200 bird partridge and pheasant day on a shoot in Suffolk A fabulous day’s shooting on this family run estate in Suffolk. The bag for the day will be around 200 birds and will consist of partridge, pheasant and a few wild duck. Six other guns will join you, and the guns will be chauffeured around the estate in a shoot trailer. Guns meet at 8:40am at the shoot lodge for coffee, then there are 2/3 drives before elevenses, followed by more drives, and a splendid shoot lunch! A wonderful day for two keen experienced shots! Please note, that this shoot is a private family shoot, and so proof of insurance will be required. Only experienced guns please. Arrangements can be made for overnight accommodation at The Kings Head in Bungay or a good B & B at a farm house close by. The lady who runs the B & B also does the cooking at the shoot lodge and is excellent!
Lot 7 – Two tickets to see Keane perform live! This phenomenally successful band has had global success with a number of albums over the past 10 years, all five of which have gone to No.1 in the album charts, a feat only achieved by three other bands in history! This is an offer to join them at Newmarket Racecourse for a concert on 9th August 2013! This lot includes back-stage passes to meet the band!
Lot 8 – Lunch with MargaretThatcher’s Biographer - Charles Moore Charles Moore – who has been editor of the Daily Telegraph [1995 – 2003], the Sunday Telegraph [1992 – 1995], and the Spectator [1984 – 1990] – is the official biographer to Margaret Thatcher, and as a result, he had full access to her private papers, and spent many hours interviewing the Iron Lady herself. Since her death, the first volume has now been published, and so this is a fantastic opportunity to meet the person who new Margaret best! Charles will buy the lucky bidder lunch in London at a convenient date. Lunch is included in the Mound Stand restaurant, and the seats will be in the Mound Stand also. The two tickets can be for Saturday 20th July or Sun 21st July by arrangement with the debenture owner. A wonderful way to enjoy the English summer!
Lot 12 – A week for four in a picturesque cottage in Norfolk Cornflower Cottage is situated in the pretty village of South Creake, just south of Burnham Market in North Norfolk, about five miles from the coast. It was built last year to high standards and has two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a good-sized sitting room and a fully fitted dining/kitchen. They have been playing each other since 1978, have met in 16 matches recognised by both sides as Tests. The first match was on 30 May 1981 and was a 19-19 draw. The 1982 war between Britain and Argentina meant that their next encounter was not until 1990. Including the 1978 game, Argentina have played England 17 times with England winning 11, Argentina 4 and 2 draws.
