A paper label to the base of the Bridgewater measure states: Sherwood Collection, Inventory number 289 and a label to the Middleham measure gives inventory number 457. Catalogue Note These two form part of a set of similar tankards of measures each inscribed with a different market town. Others include Bedford, St Neots, East Dereham, Rutihn (sic) and Warminster. The dagger verification mark is similar to those used by the Founders Company and found on wool weights of a similar date. £200300
