BOWL SIZE
To order Custom “TC-” or Renaissance Custom “RC-” timpani heads, choose the appropriate suffix for the model number. -RA Aluminum Insert / Hazy Film -RS Aluminum Insert / Clear Film Low Aluminum insert rings accommodated early hand screw drums allowing the tuning handle to reach the receiver. The aluminum insert corrected the rusting that occurred over time from the raw steel insert rings as supplied by some early Timpani drums. -SA Steel Insert / Hazy Film -SS Steel Insert / Clear Film Original High Steel Insert rings were developed by Cloyd Duff and Lloyd McCausland. They offer more rigidity and strength to the flesh hoop, providing better tuning consistency and more projection.
-LA Low-Profile Steel / Hazy Film -LS Low-Profile Steel / Clear Film Low Steel Insert rings are the latest improvement accommodating all models of timpani drums. They are twice as thick offering more rigidity and strength to the flesh hoop and making it easier to tune the drum leveling it off as well as improving the projection. This low steel insert ring is anodized preventing any rust for the life of the head.
