Membership Charter Applicants Candidates Joining Members
DURHAM FREEMASONS
When you first express an interest in freemasonry in Durham, either through our website or the United Grand Lodge of England website we will be made aware of that enquiry.
Within 2 working days
One of our provincial membership team will make contact with you and will take some details and give you any further information you might want before going forward. They will ask you to fill in a basic information and interests form.
Within 14 days
The provincial membership officer responsible for your geographical area of Durham Province will have either a phone/Zoom or Face to Face meeting with you where you will be encouraged to ask any questions you might have by then.
Within 21 days
You will be notified of the outcome of your enquiry and we can then discuss which Lodge might be best for you.
Within 6 months
We will have met with you (probably several times). Shown you round a Masonic Centre. Pointed you in the direction of the very best Lodge that matches your interests, your time commitments and in your chosen town. Have introduced you to members from any lodge you might be interested in joining. Continued to answer any/all questions you might have.
Within 12 months
depending on the number of candidates in waiting you will be formally initiated into the Lodge of your choosing where the rest of your Masonic Journey will then continue.
The timeframes above are the maximum you should expect from us at all times. If things go wrong and there is a delay please don’t hesitate to email the Provincial membership Officer or failing that the Assistant Provincial Grand Master (details on back page)
