Helvad Menswear

The Menswear Label interprets classic styles that have been around for century’s, garments that have become irreplaceable by their functional and aesthetic nature. Helvad‘s target group is an individual that cares about design but not about fashion, a strong authentic personality whose interests lie beyond the superficial and within the outmost nature of things. He is attached by the pure fabrics and the feeling of quality products on his skin. Referring to the history of functionalism, Helvad‘s approach is to create a wardrobe whose pieces can be individually combined and worn each day, each occasion.

2011, SELF INITIATED

S H O W C A S E JADB

The approach was to design a logo that emphasizes on both, the strong identity of the fashion as well as the reference to simplicity. The label tags are made out of cardboard since Helvad only uses natural fabrics for their garments.

The idea was to create an interaction with the observer by using provocative quotes for a fashion brand whose first approach always is to create a sleeker appearance. By questioning the value of beauty itself, the brand shows self reflection and makes a statement to not be taken as shallow.

Dansk Daily

During my internship at Designunit in Copenhagen I had the pleasure to design the official newspaper during the fashion week in summer 2011 in Cooperation with my Art Director Jesper Johansen. The Dansk Daily came out each day during fashion week, providing the fashion crowd with the latest news of the previous shows. The magazine was handed out in the main shops in Copenhagen as well as on the street.

For the entire issues please view issuu.com and search for Dansk Daily. 2011, INTERNSHIP

Essential when designing the newspaper was to comprise the previous issues since the newspaper itself is a brand which can‘t be changed randomly according to its designer. Still we wanted to give it a more neat and fashionable appearance which we gained by structuring each page clearly, using small typographical details and using Futura as the only font.

I designed a possible portfolio book to send to new clients, showing a selection of the work and their graphic design. I tried to show the company‘s diverse identity by using varied layouts for each page as well as a bold colour.

I took part in the research and design process for the new SELECTED Website. The client wanted to approach a more fashionable target group than before. Regarding the website, we wanted something that was very informative and reduced in its design at the same time. During the process I searched through numerous websites and online shops to create the perfect spirit for a fashionconscious but not fashion-addicted target group.

Angela Buchwald

Angela Buchwald is a german high end jewellery company with a vast experience as a manufacturing company. Thus, she decided to open up her first flagship store in Frankfurt this year under her own name and create a brand with its own identity. In a pitch I developed a brand strategy for the high-end german jeweller as well as I re- designed the corporate identity including packaging, logo design and so on. Included in the creative task was also a concept for the store design.

Facing one of our generation’s main problems, the loss of value of partnership and the increasing anonymity in the world of dating, I created an identity for a fictional group that returns to the original values. Therefore I combined a slightly feminine colour palette, containing of purple and grey, with a pure typography to attract both genders. Looking at commercial communities like Elite Partner, it is significant that the design is unemotional and reminds the viewer rather of a company than an agency that deals with the most personal matters. To attract the attention of those who believe in finding a partner not a business opportunity I chose a unicorn as a symbol. Firstly to get rid of the severity of dating and to bring back the fun in it, secondly to give a hint on how rarely it is to find a matching companion these days. LIMITED EDITION

During my internship in Munich I worked on a couple of layouts and shootings for their retail client Orsay. The results are showcased monthly in all POS of Orsay. They are called „ Flash Shootings“ and feature the monthly Must-haves. I tried to give Orsay a more modern look, without irritating the consumer by using the white logo instead of the black and give it more space to breathe. 2013, INTERNSHIP

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

As a part of the design team at TwentyOne Brands we attended a pitch of the DIC. The task was to develop a marketing strategy for the most prestigious building in the area of the Main Tor, the „ Winx“. Regarding the key data that was given - only high- maintenance tenants, mostly with an international background and the top price of 39 Euro the sqm, we thought of a concept that would create attention and fulfill the highest design standards. Our branding is based on the concept of creating a luxury brand, the „Winx“, which provides the tenant with all the virtues and comfort of a fashion luxury brand.

The second concept is based on the comfort the tenant should feel when beeing in the WINX. The colours are charming and warm and embrace the atmosphere. Still, all paperworks maintain the architectural framework.
