PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

> FADI SARIEDDINE DESIGN STUDIO

> February 2019 - Date

Working with FSDS gave me the opportunity to lead in all aspects of the creative design process. Created pre-concept design, which evolved into a complete design concept and development. Handled collective and individual interior projects. Designed products and furniture pieces for more holistic interiors. Worked on 3D modeling and technical drawings. Participated in site visits and in the supervision of work, detail design and snagging.

> archiSENSE > October 2018 - February 2019

I designed residential spaces and worked through the different stages of concept design and design development. Also conducted site visits and participated in client meetings and presentations.

> HILTON > May - June, 2017

I worked with Hilton’s Department of Architecture Design and Construction. It was an eye-opening experience that allowed me to delve into the operating aspect of design. Pitched a design concept proposal for the refurbishment of Hilton’s Head Office. Responsible for organizing client meetings and supplier meetings. Partook in site visits and snagging for on-going projects.

ABOUT

> PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Design is not only a passion but a lifestyle; as a designer, one gets to communicate different ideas and turn them into a reality by creating various environments. I developed my sense of design by working on a number of residential and commercial interior design projects. Furthermore, I enhanced my skills by designing and fabricating a chair and partook in the completion of an office of sustainability at American University of Sharjah. My work, which shows my passion and love for products and interiors, was showcased at several exhibitions.

A CO-LIVING - CO-WORKINIG BUILDING CONCEPT JUMEIRAH VILLAGE CIRCLE, DUBAI 2018 - UNDER PROGRESS Hive is not a building, it is a life style. Targeted at millennials - Hive is the first coliving space in Dubai that is designed to create an experience at the lowest possible cost for the consumer. Bringing people together is one of the key qualities that shapes the identity of hive. The essence of the ground floor lies in the piazza that formed a number of pavilions. The rooms were designed to be budget friendly, yet create a home-like experience for its residences. A simple approach was used - an object wrapping around to house different functions such as the kitchen and beds.

CARREFOUR BUS

20

A SUPERMARKET ON THE MOVE ALL AROUND DUBAI 2018 - CONCEPT Carrefoure retail bus is a mobile supermarket that is supposed to serve its customers all around Dubai - bringing their needs to them. While parked, the LED screens expand out to create more interior space for shelving and circulation. Another vital experience to the moveable supermarket was the quick coffee shop stop, which introduced a platform to enhance to users’ experience. The entrance uses a transitioning stairs to ramp mechanism to elevate you to the interior of the bus. The longitudinal supermarket is zoned by several fins which create the required support for the shelving. As well as hide some features of the bus such as the wheels.

A LIBRARY STUDY THAT EVOLVED INTO A GALLERY SPACE AUS - CAMILO CERRO FALL 16 - CONCEPT A library canyon study that was used to develop a layering language by subtracting mass to create different functional zones. From curves to pixels to shifted pixels, the layers created a horizontal home for the books while creating seating areas, coffee space, and a lounging area. The gallery space then emerged by using this layering system to branch from the first floor to the second floor while respecting the spaces required. The layering in the first floor created a staircase and an enclosed gallery space for screening - leaving the required space for art pieces. The layering continues to the second floor to create a cafe, offices, and a bookstore..

GRAPHIC ILLUSTRATION TO SHOWCASE THE RESEARCH BEHIND KITCHEN MERGE

>

A CO-WORKING SPACE AND A KITCHEN INCUBATOR AUS - CAMILO CERRO - In collaboration with Amira al Zaeim SPRING 18 - CONCEPT A three story building, each floor with two levels - was assigned to each group to be designed into a co-working space of our choice. Amira and I developed a ribbon like language that branched out across the two levels in each floor to create different functional zones. Each floor was color coded - while each category of ribbons per floor used a different shade of the same color creating a cohesive color palette while differentiating the functions of each ribbon. The first floor consists of a reception, Tv production space, a courtyard for events, grocery store, cafe, educational space, and a library. The second floor consists of kitchen incubators, experimental rooms, and co-working desks. The third floor was a green house. The aim was to create a 360 degree program that can pave the way to success for our members,

Understanding the details of how our project came together was a fundamental component. Being able to move from a conceptual way of thinking to more critical and detailed analysis of how each piece came together especially when the function of a surface changed - from floor to a desk - was very challenging. Creating and understanding the process was the beginning of the challenge, while illustrating it in a coherent way was the main challenge. Modelling the pieces and seeing our detailed sections come life created a life and soul for our conceptual project,

OFFICE OF SUSTAINABILITY

44

A CO-WORKING SUSTAINABLE OFFICE AUS - DANIEL CHAVEZ - In collaboration with IDE CLASS SPRING 18 - BUILT A collaborative design that was formed and fabricated by the interior design class for the Office of Sustainability in AUS. Since the main concern of the client - and ours - is sustainability, 70% of the project was done using recycled construction waste. While the other 30% was implemented using recycled materials - such as the carpet tiles. The office was divided into different zones, the communal concrete table, a multifunctional wooden wall, and a majlis seating area. This created various forms of working space - casual, formal, and while standing.

BENT

51

A CHAIR THAT BENT ITS WAY INTO EXISTENCE AUS - AMMAR KALO SPRING 18 - FABRICATED Bent is a proto piece that was designed and fabricated to create a cohesive and continuous flow in a piece of furniture. The back is one of the main parts of this chair, formed by seven pieces of wood - each stripped into four pieces that was later steamed and bent into a mold. The back of the chair is the main structural support of the seat, curving gradually to form a platform for the seat to rest on. The seat and the front part of the chair were CNC’d to create seamless curvature that was required for the complete piece to look bent into shape. From concept to reality, a dense material was bent into form to create a fluid continuity.
