here at fanciful fondue local patrons get an opportunity to experience this fun and social dining hub while being served fondue on circulating carts.

the musical elements of regina spektor’s enchanting voice in her song “samson”, influenced concepts of asymmetry, contrast, movement, and repetition. the fluidity of her voice, the whimsical tune, and her varying, dramatic tempos were translated into design elements.

nestled into the eclectic garland community of spokane, fanciful fondue offers a unique interactive dining experience as a communal “third place.”

creating an intimate waiting area sets up an opportunity to have a more exciting transition into to this unique dining experience.

_layout concept the spatial layout leads guests through the entire teahouse, giving the customer the opportunity to experience an exchange on each level; first the individual, then communal and finally global.

goal: promote the restoration and celebration of the local community. strategy: offer a healthy environment where people are inspired by both the menu and the interior to improve their life practices.

goal: connect members of the community with local issues facing st. louis. additionally offer opportunities for individuals and groups to participate in community events. strategy: offer a community bulletin board to provide guests with updated information on what is going on in the community.

goal: educate and offer the community sustainable practices, knowledge of green materials, and of local sustainable events. strategy: in addition to the interior bulletin, the interior will offer tea biographies, educational text and literature. the tea house will continually feature sustainable events occurring in st. louis.

goal: inspire patrons to implement healthy practices into their daily life. inspire individuals to contribute to the surrounding community. (individual, communal, and global health) strategy: offer healthy products in a creative and enriching environment. the interior will influence guests to implement the standards of the tea house into their personal life.

the exchange offers it’s patron selected resources covering sustainable home design, green building materials, local manufacturers vendors, and healthy living alternatives.Guests are encouraged to both borrow and donate to the nook enabling the communal exchange.

entering into the raw experience you encounter a cleansing station where patrons are encouraged to wash their hands and be educated on the health benefits of raw food.

to create a relaxing and healthy dining experience to counter the everyday hustle of the city. this restaurant will be affordable, attractive to patrons of diverse demographics, and eco-friendly.

by creating an innovative raw [food] dining experience, patrons of london will be attracted to the relaxing multicultural experience in a trendy atmosphere.

designed with custom seating, and lit with natural daylight, this raw space offers a unique bar experience.

experiencing a calming and restorative process, the patrons will be cleansed in both mind and body through a healthy, purifying environment, and restorative raw food menu.

the concept of urban nature acknowledges aesthetic parallels in forms that exist between the urban environment and the traditional natural environment.

threadless t-shirts give the community a unique opportunity to share their creative designs and vote for others designs on in- store computers. forms like this planter bench are built up on the map representing ideas of green buildings in the city.

three full ceiling lightwells run through the entire building bringing a little bit of nature into this urban space.

this custom bike shop not only showcases their specialty bikes, but offers repair services to the community.

this open kitchen, dining, and living area sits under two overhead loft spaces, giving the tenant access to the roof and unique lounge spaces
