Drag-resistant aerostats

RT LTA Systems (Stand S5-220), a designer and manufacturer of aerostats for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and communications applications, is emphasising improvements to its SkyStar family that minimise drift and drag − normally occurring features of ordinary aerodynamic changes − and will further enhance the availability of aerostats.

SkyStar aerostat systems, which include SkyStar 110, SkyStar 120, SkyStar 180, and SkyStar 330, are deployed by many forces around the world and have already provided more than two million operational hours. They can be deployed under extreme weather conditions with low operational and maintenance costs, and offer more than 85 per cent availability in any given area.

Ideal applications are defence, security, border control and homeland security missions.
