With military personnel often deployed in areas where water is contaminated, making it unsafe to drink, Icon LifeSaver (Stand 05- C28, UK Pavilion) has the solution dubbed ‘essential for survival’.
The LifeSaver bottle has become the British Army’s potable water filtration solution on the basis of being the most efficient and cost-effective way to produce safe drinking water.
Using the same advanced filtration technology as the original LifeSaver bottle, the LifeSaver Liberty is a smaller and lighter version that can produce up to 2,000 litres of safe drinking water, with no chemicals or electricity required. The filter system is designed to remove 99.99 per cent of viruses and bacteria, ensuring a soldier has the cleanest, safest drinking water in the harshest environment.
The individual soldier simply
fills the LifeSaver with water from any source, tightens the lid and uses the integral in-line pump to pressurise the bottle. Out comes clean drinking water from the nozzle.
The system is failsafe, because water will no longer pass through once the filter gets blocked. By replacing the filter, a soldier can filter a further 2,000 litres of water. The LifeSaver Liberty includes a 5ft scavenger hose to enable it to be used as an in-line pump for filling larger containers directly from the water source.
Not only the military benefit from this innovative product – it is widely used by humanitarian agencies, emergency services and outdoor enthusiasts, hikers and travellers to access reliable drinking water.
In a similar vein, medical teams now have access to emergency oxygen in the form of the rugged oxygen generator (ROG). This device delivers medical grade oxygen to oxygenate patients at the point of injury within approximately 15 minutes.
The ROG is small and light enough to be carried in a medical bag. Unlike compressed medical oxygen cylinders, the ROG can be exposed to extreme temperatures and even small arms fire without detonating.
