Editor's Notes
Female Bonding Issue This has been an amazing experience thus far. Connecting with creatives around the world and building community around fashion, culture and career resources for creatives. Delving into what makes an iconic image has been the focus of our publication since last March and over this year we have discovered so much about the process of being a creative. So much goes into creating that for our anniversary, we decided that we had to take our work offline and into these pages in order to fully document the varying processes and body of work in which we discuss in our interviews. In our 1 year anniversary issue we are celebrating the female entity in all her glory with playful and journalistic art & editorials from creatives around the wWorld. We hope you enjoy the first of many installments of our Creative Brief.
Sincerely, Jane

In accordance with the visual quality of the universe, when its geometric structure, form, rhythm, color and massic kinesis reduced to body, it reorganizes the senses and attributes meaning to phenomena. The indefinite combination of the information received is the misconception of the colors, the physical dimensions, the continuity of the rhythm. Phenomena form a new vibration by increasing the surface tension and stand across the reality thereby creating different circumstances in the moment. Time and space are non-existent in its own orbit. Phenomena expose the opposition between the moment and the valuation of the moment; and the opposition between becoming one and becoming a unity. Phenomena were turned into be a part of the whole with the facts of perception, light and motion.

What inspires me to create: Travel, books, nature, textures, shapes, colors, fabric, people and my imagination. What makes your brand unique? Our prints, weaves and designs are exclusive and original. We combine prints, textures, colors and fabric in unexpected ways to deliver style with functionality and comfort. Our graffiti printed canvas hoodie jacket has been designed to be cozy in subzero temperatures while retaining the cool factor. Tell us about your creative process: All our designs start with 100 sketches or more. They are gradually edited to reflect the season’s mood and our brand ethos.I create some pieces on a whim or to fill in missing components. My tight knit team works collaboratively to deliver a unique perspective. We are very all very respectful and protective of each other. What materials or images are inspiring you at the moment for the upcoming season? Bold animal prints, colorful plaids, velvet and wool are dominantly featured in the next collection. As always, urban landscape and lifestyle is our main inspiration. However, a lingering love of nature and open spacesis also weaved in which I hope comes through.

How do you see your brand being able to inspire the future of fashion? Our brand will offer wearable fashion forward options at a competitive price. We strongly believe that the customer must be the one to decide for themselves. We have successfully employed modern technology to deliver our designs to the end user, bypassing bureaucratic and outdated methods. What demographic do you feel your brand resonates with? Our demographic ranges from young urban professionals to household incomes exceeding$250,000. What is an average price point for the pieces you create? $375 What other stores/online platforms do you feel your audience currently shops? Saks, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Gumps, Harvey Nichols, Barney’s, Net a Porter.com, Mytheresa.com and several cool boutiques. What do you want your audience to gravitate towards when they see your collections? We carry a broad style and price point range. In that sense, my audience should gravitate towards what fits their budget, requirement and current mood. What do you feel is the core of a fluid collection? I feel a fluid collection should blur genderlines and connect across differences in age. What is your favorite piece in your current collection? To choose a favorite piece is like trying to pick a favorite child. It is impossible. If I had to choose a style that I would wear, it would have to be the Lola jumpsuit. Why? I love that shade of red, the exaggerated flare and the surprise of a single leg pleat in a contrast shade. I think this design is both fashion-forward and glamorous. Where can we shop your collection? You can shop our collection anytime at www.lavanyacoodly.com We also schedule trunk shows and private shows upon request.
