M USEUM L E C ORBUSIER Chicago, IL

Project Description To design a public gallery for a chosen architect.

The gallery

space is located between two existing buildings and is 36’ tall.

Project Description The challenge was to create a light fixture, made out of found cardboard.

Concept Statement The making of a nest is chaotic, yet systematic and proves to be functional. This cardboard light fixture represents organized chaos in its entirety, through the framing and the random placing of the twig-like elements.

L A F ORTALEZA H OTEL San Juan, Puerto Rico

Concept Statement The heart and soul of San Juan, Puerto Rico is the seven-block grid of Old San Juan. Old San Juan is a 465 year old neighbor hood with much Spanish colonial influence. In contrast to the New World restaurant, the hotel will emit an Old World feel. As guests enter through the hotel lobby, they’re welcomed by elaborate Spanish tiled flooring, a large chandelier, cobbled walls and heavy wooden doors. Old San Juan offers a vibrant color palette of yellows, reds, greens and blues, which will be used as accent colors. Because arts and crafts are such an important aspect of the culture, local art work will be exhibited throughout the hotel.

S ALPICADURA San Juan, Puerto Rico

Concept Statement El San Sebastian Festival inspires the interior of Salpicadura Restaurant. It is the biggest festival of the year in Puerto Rico, and takes place for 3 consecutive days, serving in the restoration of historic buildings since 1954. The war m, origami lights will reference the hot, festive nights of San Juan. As guests enter, they’ll immediately feel the tropical environment through the palm textured wall behind the hostess stand, and the ocean colored walls in the dining area. The interior is splashed with the traditional history of Old San Juan, through the deep wood tones, and pops of festive colors, bringing together the Old World and the New World.
