Our welded loops make rigging fast, easy and reliable. We take extra care to make certain our loops are strong, secure and durable.
Our proprietary Dyna-Tip technology significantly reduces the density of our fly line tips so they float higher in the surface film resulting in better line management and leader flotation.

GRIP SET
Our proprietary Shooting Technology (ST) gives the jacket a harder finish and noticeably stiffer coating. The ST coating delivers a reduced-friction performance with a glass smooth finish and remains a key element in line slickness over its life span.
Our Liquid Crystal lines are built with a blend of Polyethylene compounds (PE) over a monofilament core resulting in the toughest, slickest-shooting floating fly lines. Our core and PE coating are permanently fused preventing delamination.

FLY LINE CARE MODERN FLY LINE CARE While PVC and PE are very durable and able to withstand hard use, they can be damaged by abuse. Most quality fly lines will last for many seasons if they’re cared for properly. So here are a few suggestions that will help you maximize the usable life of your new Cortland fly line. Fly line picks up microscopic bits of dirt, grit and algae which adhere to the surface of the PVC and PE in an almost invisible film. A dirty line will not float as high as a clean line. And, the grit clinging to a very dirty line can abrade the polished surface of the PVC or PE when it shoots through the guides which reduces its slickness and accelerates the deterioration of the line. Whatever you do, NEVER use vinyl treatments and other spray cleaners because they are likely to damage the coating on your line. Fortunately, cleaning a fly line is easy with our new fly line cleaner products. With the proper care and maintenance, your new Cortland fly line should last a long time. So it really pays to follow these common-sense steps. • • • • •

Supple enough to throw a tight loop with a long range floating line, but feature enough power across the blank to effortlessly cast a heavy tungsten sinking line. Designed to fish all lake lines, from floater through intermediate, right through to the real heavyweight modern lines, the most gentle of takes will be transmitted through the blank right to your fingertips. The ultra-premium grade Portuguese cork has been used for the handles, and each of the rods features a comfortable fighting butt for extra control while fighting fish. Single foot guides and a stealthy unpainted finish round these rods off in an extremely tactical, yet attractive manner.
MKII NYMPH SERIES Built using carbon fiber of military grade modulus and resins, these rods have been designed and built utilizing over 30 years of top level competition experience from the Cortland Prostaff. This new and exciting range of “Euro Style” nymphing rods were tested extensively at the World Fly Fishing Championships in Vail, Colorado in September 2016, by many of the World’s most successful competition anglers. The balance of the weight and the main power in the butt section paired with a downward locking reel seat for this technique is paramount. An ergonomic fighting butt provides the correct weight distribution and the necessary control to land the larger fish or assist in long days of fighting fish. The tip section is designed to be extremely light and crisp, yet soft enough to protect the finest tippet and not bounce fish. The super lightweight blank is extremely durable and dampens quickly allowing you to feel bites transmitted through the rod.
