Dear Recruiter: The Career Center, Supply Chain Management Department, and student affiliate chapters of the Institute for Supply Management and Education Society for Resource Management invite you to attend our annual Supply Chain Job and Internship Fair on Monday, February 7, 2005, in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Why attend this three-hour special event? • Learn more about the new Supply Chain Managment curriculum through informal conversations with faculty, staff, and student leaders during the dinner. • Identify and recruit outstanding BGSU students interested in Operations and Supply Chain Management careers. Students will be seeking cooperative education, internship, summer, part-time and post-graduate positions. • Select candidates from the more than 130 students who attend the fair annually. • Schedule interviews as you meet candidates at the Fair that will take place on February 8th. (optional) If you prefer to interview on-campus at a later date, please call the BGSU Cooperative Education and Internship Program at (419) 372-2451 and speak to Kathy Hoke to schedule an interview date that is convenient for you. SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT at Bowling Green State University

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT
According to the U.S. News & World Report, the BGSU Supply Chain Management program is 19th on the list of leading undergraduate supply chain management and logistics programs nationwide. BGSU is one of two supply chain management programs in the state listed in the 2005 rankings. • The BGSU College of Business and Supply Chain Management program are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
Students also are encouraged to gain leadership experience through active involvement in the student affiliate chapters of ISM (The Institute for Supply Management) and APICS (The Educational Society for Resource Management).
• More than 130 students are enrolled in the Supply Chain Management specialization. • The department offers a Supply Chain Institute comprised of major U.S. corporations, which promotes collaboration among faculty, employers, and students.
A SUMMARY OF THE PROGRAM The Supply Chain Management program prepares graduates to coordinate the major activities that contribute to material costs and availability, including purchasing, production control, warehousing, and distribution. Key class topics include: the purchasing process, sourcing and supplier management, cost and price analysis, negotiation, supply chain integration, forecasting and operations planning, quality management, process design and lean manufacturing, and operations strategy. Graduates of the program usually start as buyers, materials analysts, buyer/planners, inventory supervisors, or in contract administrator trainee positions. They can advance to a position of senior buyer, purchasing manager, plant manager, supply chain manager, or contract administrator.

REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE The Supply Chain Management faculty strongly encourage students to participate in the University’s Cooperative Education and Internship Program, believing that practical experience in the supply chain field is essential to students’ professional and personal development. While participation is not required, approximately 85 percent of supply chain management majors at BGSU complete at least one co-op or internship experience prior to graduation.
