Desperation, failures, and frustration configure a natural part of your journey. As an entrepreneur, for sure you have those days when you experience a kind of depression, but you don’t like to call it for an entrepreneurial funk. It sounds too serious. Perhaps you couldn’t figure out how to come back on track again, or whatever it is. As entrepreneurs, we’re going through a sort of depression all the time, without even knowing about it. You can be doing quite well when it comes to the work to accomplish, but the feeling of not being satisfied is there. “Is this going to work or is it going to fail?” That type of feeling appears and causes an entrepreneurial funk. Whatever mode you’re into, there are strategies to get rid of your entrepreneurial funk.

Fade Out The Entrepreneurial Funk – Highlight Your Accomplishments Accomplishment The first thing to do is to create a list of your achievements. It’s so simple to erase the entrepreneurial funk, and every person should be doing this. Use Evernote, or whatever you prefer, and write it down every time something appears that makes you proud of yourself. Listen carefully to other people’s remarks about you, as often you don’t even notice by yourself that you have done something that is worth celebrating. The accomplishments to write down should cover everything in your life, and not only things related to your work. It could be finishing a marathon race, helping a person or making an appropriate comment on something. It can be personal or professional; it doesn’t matter. Whatever it is, of your personal choice, establish that list. Any period you’ve ever intimidated yourself and you pushed on forward, and you accomplished it, add it to the list. Shaping that list of accomplishments and reviewing it whenever you’re feeling this mode, it’ll merely help yo remind you how incredible you are. And that, well, is the big thing. You often forget about how amazing you’ve been so far in our lives, with all the challenges you have to overcome. All people have those accomplishments to be proud of, and for sure you also have it. So, establish that list and your entrepreneurial funk will start to fade out by itself.

Reconnect With Your “Why” 1/4

Why The second one to do is to reconnect with your why. When you started your business or whatever activity you’re up to, there was a reason; there was a purpose. What was that reason? Perhaps it was to create a better future for your family. Could be that it was to prove to people how wrong they were when doubting about you in the past. Perhaps it was to finally find that freedom you always have had in your dreams. Or maybe, your drive was to increase your income. Whatever your “why” is, revise it, tweak it, or maybe change it. Whatever you do, be sure that your “why” is correct, real, and that it’s purely yours Reconnect with your “why” that triggered you to start your business adventure in the first place. It has been mentioned on so many different occasions and in so many forums, about the importance to know your “why.” Read my article “What Is Your Why?” from the 13th of April, 2016. To work with something without knowing your “why” is like crossing an ocean without any defined destiny. Start every new day by screaming out loudly your “why.” Believe me; it is the most efficient medicine against any entrepreneurial funk.

Gratefulness Will Cure Any Entrepreneurial Funk Be grateful The third thing to do is to list things you’re grateful for. It’s not just high-level stuff, but also things likeI having coffee together with a friend or being grateful for your own family. Often we forget that in a blink of a second, that you can lose everything. So, be grateful now for what you have and for what you are achieving. Sometimes I’m thinking about how fantastic it is to live in a country where you can build your business the way you want. Unfortunately, there are still many countries in the world where this for us so natural thing, isn’t possible to do. Isn’t that something to be grateful for? What about your health? If you are lucky to be healthy, it’s also something we take for granted. And friends and family supporting you…. Well, spinning off, the list can be huge, and indeed there are a lot of things in life to be grateful for. Write it down like a sort of manifest of gratefulness. The ability of gratitude is imperative. It’s something to practice every morning before starting the day. Do you see? Where goes your entrepreneurial funk? By automation, it will start to eliminate itself.

Practice What You Know Practice The last step to eliminate your entrepreneurial funk is to practice the three simple but important steps. It’s a no-brainer, but you have to do it. How often does it happen to you that you read something, it makes sense, and you might even like it, but then nothing happens. Stop what you are doing right now, yes, right now, take a walk outside or stand up from your table to do some pushups, or whatever it is. Just think that there is a reason why you are where you are. If you would like to change something in your life, you certainly can do it, if you decide to do it. To practice what you learn is probably one of the fastest paths towards real change. If you feel that you haven’t gone to the gym that frequently that you should do, just decide to do it today. Yes, go to the gym before this day comes to an end, without any excuses. If you know that there are stuff to do in your business but you procrastinate all the time, do it today, without any excuses! Being honest with yourself and knowing that you’re doing all you have on your to-do list for every day, is the most efficient blocker to entrepreneurial funk. You will not only get things done, but it will be done successfully, and you will experience a happier life.
