Your social skills depend on many different factors. Your childhood is the first thing to pop up. Do you come from a strict family with rules for almost everything, including how to behave with others?
Or were your first years as a human being filled with open and “flexible” rules?
Things can change when growing up, starting school, and becoming a teenager. However, your childhood experience always will be there.
In my case, I come from a Swedish family where open and social behavior wasn’t promoted very actively. That education will follow you for the rest of your life in one way or another.
At the age of 22, I met a wonderful Mexican girl who, besides being lovely, also had that spontaneous Latin mindset. That wonderful girl and my wife, for 48 years now, influenced my behavior greatly
But that restrictive attitude to always hold back is still there and will be for life. It has changed from “holding back” to “being careful,” and those two characters are playing well together
