JFF presents Japan’s freshest films in drama, anime, comedy, thriller, romance, and documentary. The JFF is presented by The Japan Foundation, Sydney, and tours major Australian cities and regional centres. Sometimes it takes an act of nature to bring a family together.

Ryota is a deadbeat father who scrapes by thanks to his job at a private detective agency. What little he earns is squandered on his gambling addiction, leaving him with next to nothing for child support. The only light in his life is his son. One day, a typhoon leaves the broken-up family stranded in their grandmother’s house, giving them a chance at reconciliation.

With help from a street cat known as Gottalot, Rudolf quickly discovers that he has a lot to learn about the world.
