Sequence - Exterior Perspective
The Vision / The Sequence mixed-use proposal aims to create a dynamic cultural experience for its users through combining a variety of retail, dining and entertainment offerings culminating with a contemporary cinema complex. The design forms part of the Scenescape Media and Entertainment Precinct and aims to reinvigorate the traditional standalone movie theatre model. By complementing the cinematic experience with a number of ancillary programs, users are provided with a diverse and extended offering at a time when the popularity of at-home entertainment is continuously increasing.
The Concept / The concept is driven by the comparison between architecture and cinema, whereby buildings are experienced as a series of sequences, similar to the way in which a film is structured. Central to the design is the creation of a spatial narrative. This idea is articulated through the contrast of experiential possibilities embodied within the Sequence building, and the seamless linkages between the stand-alone structure and the broader public domain of the Scenescape precinct.

Scenescape Masterplan - Aerial Perspective
The Vision/ Scenescape is a proposal for a new Springfield Cultural & Entertainment Precinct is located in the heart of South East Queensland. The masterplan will act as the catalyst to the growing city, injecting a greater sense of identity and permanence to the community. Locals will enjoy a variety of entertainment, sports and leisure activities that will also attract visitors from around the state and country. The Concept/ The planning of The Scene sits in line with internationally renowned examples that incorporate three major activity nodes. The main node is the esplanade and board-walk situated over the reconstructed
creek bed. Secondly a central piazza forms a central node together with a series of laneways linking spaces throughout the site, and lastly the public transit hub. The planning of these activity nodes preempts future development of the surrounding sites and will ensure seamless connections allow access to the heart of the precinct from all directions. While Springfield Lakes continues to transform into a thriving community opportunities are expanding within the commercial, residential and tourism sectors for the city. The Cultural Precinct & Entertainment will play an important and vital role in activating the city and creating a destination all year round.

Multi-purpose forecourt
The Vision/ The design proposal for the John Lane Precinct seeks to develop Beenleigh’s Identity through HUMANITY, CARE and SUPPORT. The concept challenges the traditional segregation of the workplace and an active lifestyle by combining the two pursuits. It is not your typical office, sporting or public space. It blurs the lines between work, life and play. The premise for project is that physicality stimulates innovation and creativity. The design concept has been coined ‘Luminary’ – namely so, as it endeavours to provide an environment where positive role models
are created to inspire and influence the community. With an already existent sporting culture in Beenleigh, the facility aims to further empower the community by promoting active pursuits. The Concept/ The design is comprised of three major programmes: sport, public and work. The concept blurs the lines between all three into one facility and seeks to shape a space that combines work time with leisure time and encourages active recreation. Luminary is a vital part of the John Lane Precinct Masterplan and its design responds to a larger context. 21
