Tumo Celebrates its 1st Anniversary!
Since launching last year, TUMO Tirana celebrates over 1000 brilliant Tumoians who have attended the center to learn and explore their superpowers in programming, animation, game development, graphic design, filmmaking, robotics, music and 3D modeling.
Their brilliant minds have expressed their interesting worldview through several amazing projects, some even impressing industry professionals and gaining internship
Students start with self-learning sessions where they are encouraged to study in an independent manner, exploring everything that sparks their interest and curiosity. In the meantime, they are guided by an AI technology learning path as well as expert coaches.
After, they can choose what disciplines they feel most passionate about and pursue workshops to further broaden their
expertise. Workshops are carried out by leading experts, and students end up with their own personal project.
The following are several projects from the students. Each piece has its own story and has been crafted with passion over several hours of work.
1. GRAPHIC DESIGN - SCENERY (STUDENT AGE 14)
Students worked on delivering a pretty scenery using patterns and a clean colour palette.
2. ANIMATION - BOUNCING BALL (STUDENT AGE 14)
This project comes from the 1st level animation workshop where students learn the basics of 2D animation. They are encouraged to work on a bouncing ball that wanders in a creative environment.
3. GAME DEVELOPMENT - VILLAGE(STUDENT AGE 17)
This is a snapshot of a Game Development project, featuring a village. The full video shows the player walking through this village and houses that have wonderful details inspired by asian elements.
Another TUMO Tirana milestone is the collaboration of students with UNDP Albania. Our students created the illustrations for a book with 9 stories titled “They Lived As They Wished Happily Ever After”. This book sparks the discussion on how we can change the patriarchal mentality, gender stereotypes, and how we can end gender based violence.
The TUMO Tirana center is committed to
expanding and providing a cutting edge educational experience for the Albanian youth. The center offers an educational, after-school program, where students, ages 12-18 years old can expand their creative and analytical skills in 8 different disciplines.
