Point Line Plane
Ex. 1
Point Line Plane This project explored iterative process through abstraction. Photographs were taken, representing the thesmes of point, line, and plane. These photos were then abstracted into drawings, which, in turn, informed a 3d model. We then photographed this model and, once again, abstracted these photos into another set of drawings.

Excavation / Site / Path / Threshold
Ex. 2+3
Excavation / Site / Path/ Threshold This assignment called for us to create a structure that provided one large gathering space and smaller gathering spaces for quieter activities. It examines additive and subtractive design, giving an initial mass that must be excavated to form the spaces. That excavated material must then be used elsewhere in the structure. Inspired loosely by the Piazza Del Duomo and Piazza Della Signaria, this structure focuses on circulation and the heirarchy of movement through the different spaces.

Occupiable Walls
Ex. 4
Occupiable Walls Occupiable walls asked for the creation of a “scholar’s apartment” with two units for resident scholars at Georgia Tech. It was to be built in a parking lot with a plaza to the north and a garden to the south. This informed the views, circulation, and shared outdoor space which the breif also required.

Living Lighthouse
The Living Lighhouse Project prompted the design of a 30 unit microhousing tower for undergraduate students. It utilizes the structure from the Occupiable Walls project to create the core of the tower and inform the rest of the design. The breif called for two classrooms and a rock climbing wall. My design tried to keep some of the planar aspect of the last project, while exploring a more massive form.
