PAINTING:

1) You must prime the panel before painting. 2) When painting the MDF panels, it is recommended to use a roller or spray paint. Using a paint brush is more difficult and tends to cause brush marks. 3)The MDF panels may be painted on both sides if desired, for they have smooth surfaces. * Opening represents air flow. The larger opening the more air flow. For example radiators may want larger openings & screen applications may want less.

Our decorative wire grills are manufactured from various gauges of steel wires that are crimped woven to create tile designs. We start with round thicknesses. We then crimp the wires using custom machinery. See the 4 crimp styles on this page.

Recommendations For Cutting Grilles

Step 1: We suggest a template be made from heavy paper or cardboard. Measure the routed opening on the back of the door into which the grille is to fit. Deduct 1/8” from each dimension for clearance. Step 2: Place the template on a flat surface large enough to hold the grille material. Lay the grille material over the template and locate it so the design is balanced from top to bottom and from side to side, with wire running into the corners. Step 3: Using a “permanent” ink marker, mark the grille wires corresponding to your template and cut using heavy duty shears or tin snips.

Cutting Instructions: Material can be cut using wire cutters, bolt cutters and any saw with a metal cutting blade, depending on the gauge of the wire. Each design varies with wire gauge and crimp style.

Strongly recommend that you make a template of the exact size the grilles will be cut to - heavy cardboard or scrap plywood works the best.

For smaller mesh openings (under 3/4”), plan on 1/2” spacing between any pieces they may be cutting out of standard sheet sizes. For mesh openings 3/4” and larger, plan on not less than 1” of space between each cut.

“ILLUSIONS” GLASS FILM OVERLAY Glass Film Overlays may be applied to any glass, plastic*, or mirrored surface; enabling a wide variety of design possibilities. It may be used on panels, partitions, display cases, signage, mirrors, windows, or doors. For permanent or temporary application – the choice is yours! In addition to interior decorating applications, glass film overlays are the perfect answer for producing stand out displays and exhibits.

*Due to the nature of plastic materials, we do not recommend applying films which have adhesive to plastic panels if exposed to excessive heat or direct light (such as strong exhibit lighting) or excessive heat will occur.

3 Improves the visual effect of all transparent applications & creates designer accents on the surface to which it is applied. 3 Reduces glare when applied to windows. 3 Prevents glass from shattering should it be broken. 3 Produces a physical awareness of partitions, preventing possible breakage. 3 Creates a level of privacy by reducing visibility beyond surface to which it is applied (not applicable to all, see specific pattern for this information). 3 Use as a border or full surface accent. 3 Cleans with mild soap and water. 3 Trims to size with scissors or a utility knife. 3 Suitable for bathroom applications (must be applied to exterior of shower doors).

3 Applies to glass or plastic* surfaces in the same manner as a tinting film. 3 Product may be removed from surface applied to; however, may not be reused. 3 Product produced with a UV protective coating. This coating protects the film itself from damaging UV rays.
