Mawi 1 AW13 Collection | Jewellery Design Lead Designer: Keivom. M | Design Assistants : Law. J & Marshall. S.

1

This collection was designed under MAWI London led by Mawi, and co-with Stuart Marshall. AW13 collections includes Deco Glam, Rebel Rocks, and Rebel Romances, each of them are different collected stories inspired by different era.

Deco Glam1 1

This story epitomizes Mawi’s distinct ability to effortlessly blend both vintage and contemporary design. Drawing inspiration from the hedonistic and artistic art-deco period, Deco Glam derives from the sophisticated glamour of the roaring twenties and the fin de siècle linear patterns from which the art deco movement was created. Delicate fringing and geometric stone structures seamlessly come together in a collection that even Daisy Buchanan would be jealous of.

Rebel Rocks1 1 Seeking inspiration from both industrial and mechanical elements and her love of subversive punk, Mawi explores a desire for darkness as sharp spikes and padlocks adorn thick bike chains to create a tough look with a luxurious feel. Rebel Rocks is the story of savage chokers, ominous rings and menacing bracelets joining together in a look that is both lavishly aggressive but quintessentially Mawi.

Rebel Romance1 1 Rebel Romance demonstrates Mawi’s ability to create the perfect coming together of pretty and tough, resulting in a sublime collection that smoothly toes the line between the past and present. Chunky chains, sinister spikes and menacing razor blades are overlaid with delicately ornate crystal creations in a darkly romantic setting. Embellished chokers encircle the neck, while earrings ordained in cascading crystals match with oversized ornate rings in an unlikely fusion. Rebel Romance twists the conventions of vintage glamour to create a mysterious story of lust and betrayal.

J.C.L. Convertible High Heels 1 1 J.C.L. is a detachable high-heeled shoe that allows wearer to change to heels in different heights and styles instantly. It aims to provide an instant solution for foot-pain relieve and biomechanical effect, as well as the options for different matching of shoe bodies and heels. The interlocking mechanism of the detachable heel and the transformable structure of the shoe is a collected result of observational studies of user experiences, researches on biomechanical and anthropometric data, analysis on high heel gait simulation using a human simulation software, and stress and strain analysis of high heel shoes carried out using Ansys. Currently, the design of the shoe is in progress.

Biomechanical Research & Analysis 11 22 33 44

1 Stress and Strain analysis was carried out using Ansys Workbench to find out the minimum strain of the material for the mechanism. Stainless steel was one of the suitable material for the interlocking to withstand a British woman with average height. 2,3,4 Opensims 3.1 was carried out to show the biomechanical effect on both gastrocnemius muscles.

Bugatti Atlantic Type 57C 1 3D printing, Reverse Engineering & Simulation Analysis

1

In the project, a CAD model of Bugatti Atlantic Type 57 has been created in Solidworks using surface modelling and converted to a solid model. The model was used in 3D printing, reverse engineering, lower back analysis and coverage zone analysis using Jack Design simulation, fluid analysis in Ansys.
