We invest in quality, using the latest technology to spin and weave world class fabrics combined with traditional craft skills to ensure that each item is made to last. This season’s collection for example includes bed linen made from a lightweight stone-washed denim. Each piece is unique and made to last as long as your favourite pair of old blue jeans. SECRET RIVER BED LINEN. The Secret River bed linen range is made from 100% long-staple combed cotton sourced globally and woven and finished to the highest standards in southern India. Centuries-old textile traditions and modern technology have combined to produce a supreme understanding of cotton and quality of craftsmanship. The range includes: • 320 thread count percale – a closely woven, plain weave, loved for its crisp feel and soft body. Ideal for every-day use. • 650 and 900 thread count sateen – a special weave creating a silky smooth feel using some of the finest commercially spun threads. • New to our range is a stone-washed denim, a beautifully soft fabric, indigo dyed and piece-washed so that no two items are the same. The 320TC and 900TC CLASSIC style uses a simple satin stitch detail for a clean, crisp look, while the 320TC LADDERSTITCH and 650TC HEMSTITCH styles employ more traditional

decorative techniques. In contrast, the STONE-WASHED DENIM has a subtle indigo square, top stitch, giving it a modern, contemporary look and feel.
THREAD COUNT. Thread counts of fabrics in this catalogue are quoted in threads per 10 sq cms – 320, 650 and 900. That said, thread count alone is not an adequate measure of fabric quality. The ultimate test is the “hand” or feel of the fabric itself, which is determined by fibre quality, staple length and how it is processed, spun, woven and finished.
