ts official! SawDust City Brewing Co. in Gravenhurst has opened its doors. The long awaited opening was just in time for the August long weekend and on the eve of Beer Fest in Muskoka. Mayor Paisley Donaldson was given the honour as the first patron to view the facility and taste the product before opening to the public. In addition to the Brewery the new location also serves as a Tap Room and retail store with future plans to provide a dining experience. The public is invited to sample products and tour the plant which is open 7 days a week. The new brewery is located in the former Canadian Tire store at 397 Muskoka Rd. North, Gravenhurst. Judy & Amy Its going to look a little different on your way into town in the next couple of years as Council has given staff the go ahead on a plan to update and enhance the community’s signage and way finding. The recommendation will provide clean and clear branding of the town’s logo and adopted colour scheme. The final version of the welcome sign concept pictured above will be found on highway 11, north and southbound and Muskoka road 169 eastbound. Under the current timetable, the signs would be constructed in 2015. The final way finding signage plan and designs will be presented to committee in early 2015.

I Members of the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce, Gravenhurst BIA, Gravenhurst Rotary Club, the Town of Gravenhurst, the District of Muskoka and more all joined Mayor Paisley Donaldson in welcoming the Women’s Centre to Gravenhurst, located at 270 Muskoka Road south.

t was soggy, but spirits were high as Mayor Donaldson and fellow dignitaries raised their umbrellas to help commemorate the 135th Anniversary of the formation of Ryde Township. The celebration, which also coincided with the Heritage Committee’s ‘Doors Open’ event, included a delicious pancake breakfast, parade and BBQ. Despite the wet weather, the activities were very well attended and enjoyed by all. A big congratulations to all of the organizers who helped make this such a special and commemorative occasion.

The Women’s Centre will serve as a safe space for women in the area and assist with any challenges or barriers that they might face.
