TOWN NOTICES WINTER STORMS - ARE YOU READY? Winter storms can be stressful for you and damaging to your property if you aren’t prepared. They can disrupt power supply and transportation as well as cause home and personal safety issues. Bitter cold and winter storms kill more people than the number of Canadians killed by tornadoes, thunderstorms, lightning, floods and hurricanes combined. Make sure you have reviewed your family emergency plan and safety tips with everyone in your household. • • • • • •

ANIMAL CONTROL The By-Law department is reminding residents and visitors that dogs must be leashed at all times when in public or on trails. In addition to being leashed, all dogs that reside within the boundary of the Town of Gravenhurst must have valid dog tags (2018 dog tags are available at the town office and Pet Valu). Dog owners are responsible for injuries and damages caused by a dog in their care. Please keep in mind, there is a large, fenced in, off leash dog park located at the end of John St.S, where dogs are permitted to run at large and socialize.
What to do when you find a lost dog:
- If safe, take control of the dog. - Phone the Bylaw department 705-687-3412 ext.241, an officer will respond and take the dog from your care.
During Christmas Shut Down (December 23rd 2017 to January 2nd 2018):
- If safe, take control of the dog and drop the dog off at the Orillia OSPCA branch (check hours of operation Online or by phoning 705-325-1304). - If you are not able to transport the dog and immediate attention is required, please phone the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 for further instructions.
