Emergency Preparedness - 72-Hour Emergency Kit Are You Prepared Should an Emergency Occur in Gravenhurst? Emergency Preparedness begins in the home and every household should be prepared with a 72-Hour Emergency Kit that will get you and your family through the first 72 hours of an emergency. Emergency Kits should be prepared well in advance of an emergency, should be easy to carry and stored in an easy-to-reach place. Everyone in your family should know where it is stored.
Some of the things to include in your kit are: Enough clean drinking water for each person in your family (at least 2 litres per person per day); A supply of non-perishable food such as dried or canned foods, energy bars; A manual can opener; Wind up or battery powered flashlight(s) and radio; Extra batteries; A copy of your emergency plan and contact information; First Aid Kit; Food and supplies for your pet(s). Some cash in smaller bills; Special items like prescription medications, baby formula, equipment for persons with special needs; and Important papers like your passport, health card, etc. For more information on preparing your Emergency Kit, visit:

Accessibility Advisory Committee
Provide advice to Council on the preparation, implementation and effectiveness of the Town’s accessibility plan. Knowledgeable in relevant accessibility legislation including the Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. Seeking members to fill two (2) vacancies.
Communities in Bloom - Your role will be to advise, assist and make recommendations to
Council on matters related to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, beautification and to improve quality of life through community participation with a focus on protection and promotion of green space. Seeking members to fill three (3) vacancies.
