Climate change refers to the rise in average surface temperatures on Earth. “Climate change occurs when long-term weather patterns are altered – for example, through human activity. Global warming is one measure of climate change, and is a rise in the average global temperature.” www.davidsuzuki.org The effects of Climate Change have already been experienced in Ontario with more frequent and intense weather events over the past decade. October 2012 – Wawa received 133 mm rain in 9 hours.
