BURNING GUIDELINES Burning Guidelines for the Town of Gravenhurst REMEMBER : During a declared FIRE BAN there is absolutely NO BURNING! NO DAYTIME BURNING! ABSOLUTELY NO BURNING IN WARD 1 Do not burn from April 1 to October 31, except from two hours before sunset through the night, to two hours after sunrise.

COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS Council for the Town of Gravenhurst is seeking public participation for the following Committees:

Terence Haight Financial Assistance Committee  Seeking one (1) new member to join the Committee  Your role will be to review applications received under the Terence Haight Financial Assistance Policy and make recommendations to Council on the successful recipients and the amount of the assistance

Getting Ready-Ensure that: • you have an ample supply of water at the ready, sufficient to control the fire • a responsible person is always attending a constantly burning fire until the fire is out • be respectful to your neighbours when burning

Do Not Burn: • within 15 metres of a structure or vehicle; • under windy conditions or in a manner which limits the visibility of a motorist to a distance less than 150 metres; • within 2 metres of flammable materials; • within 5 metres of any forest; • in a yard incinerator unless enclosed and covered by a heavy steel screen mesh with openings less than 5 millimetres. Small fires for warmth and cooking are permitted on all properties in the Town of Gravenhurst subject to all of the following: • maximum size 75cm (30 inches) in diameter and/or 90 cm (36 inches) in height • fire can only be used for warmth and/or cooking. Burning debris is not permitted OWNER MUST COMPLY: Every owner shall comply with every direction of the Chief Fire Official or his designate, the Chief Municipal Law Enforcement Officer or a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer and immediately cease any action prohibited. For the purpose of this by-law all officers mentioned above may enter upon any lands. PENALTY: Every person who contravenes any provision of this by-law is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine as provided for in the Provincial Offences Act. PUBLIC NOTICE TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Gravenhurst proposes to enact a by-law to close, stop up and sell those parts of the original shore road allowance described as follows: That part of the original shore road allowance in front of Lot G, Concession 20, Township of Wood, now Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, designated as Part 1 on 35R-25081 (Morrison Lake). AND TO SELL that part of the original shore road allowance in front of Lot G, Concession 20, Township of Wood, now Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, designated as Part 1 on 35R-25081, to the adjoining owner or owners of them. Join Arleigh for this informative talk. Saturday May 28 to Saturday June 4 – Used Book Sale during Library hours. Book donations for the sale are being accepted at the Library. Books must be current and in good condition.
