Natural disasters may be beyond our control, but there are ways to reduce the risk and the impact of whatever emergency we might face……whether it is natural or human-induced. EP Week encourages Canadians to be prepared to cope on their own for at least the first 72 hours of an emergency while rescue workers help those in urgent need of assistance. This special week is a national effort of provincial emergency management organizations and Public Safety Canada.
PUBLIC NOTICES TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Gravenhurst proposes to enact a by-law to close, stop up and sell those parts of the original shore road allowance described as follows:That part of the original shore road allowance in front of Lot 31, Concession1, Township of Morrison, now Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, designated as Parts 2 and 3 on 35R-22098 (Severn River) AND TO SELL that part of the original shore road allowance in front of Lot 31, Concession 1, Township of Morrison , now Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, designated as Parts 2 and 3 on 35R-22098, to the adjoining owner or owners of them. THE PROPOSED BY-LAW will come before the said Council for consideration at its regular meeting at the Gravenhurst Municipal Office, 3-5 Pineridge Gate, Gravenhurst, Ontario on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017, at 5:00 o’clock p.m. and at that time the Council will hear any person or by his Counsel, Solicitor or Agent, any person who claims that his lands will be prejudicially affected and who applies to be heard. Written submissions concerning the application may be directed to the address below.

Tech Time Training Workshops Fridays at 12 noon May 5 – Internet Safety – Learn how to keep yourself safe Online. May 12 – Facebook – Learn how to make an account, add friends, and navigate Facebook. May 19 – Pinterest – Learn how to make an account, save recipes and other interesting topics, as well as search. May 26 – Camera App – Learn how to use your camera on your tablet or phone. *New* Discover Engineering Series starts May 4, (10:15am) for four weeks – geared to children ages 2 and 3 – registration is required. Half Hour One-on-one Technology Training sessions available Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 4 pm and Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 3 pm – please call to book an appointment. Children’s Storytime – Tuesdays at 10:15 am – Bring your little one every Tuesday morning for story time, sing-alongs and crafts.
