TOWN NOTICES NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING - OFFICIAL PLAN CONCERNING PROPOSED NEW TOWN OFFICIAL PLAN TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Town of Gravenhurst will hold a Second Statutory Public Meeting, pursuant to Sections 17(15) and 26 of the Ontario Planning Act, respecting a new Official Plan as a result of the Town’s Five Year Official Plan Review.

STATUTORY PUBLIC MEETING: Tuesday, November 22 , 2016 at nd

3 pm. The purpose of the Statutory Public Meeting is to present the new Official Plan to Council and provide the public the opportunity to comment to Council on the proposed new Official Plan.

The Meeting will be held at: Council Chambers of the Municipal Office, 3-5 Pineridge Gate, Gravenhurst.

AN OFFICIAL PLAN is the municipality’s key planning document, intended to guide and control future land use development, and establishes policies for the use and management of land within the Town of Gravenhurst. The Town’s current Official Plan was approved in 2008. The Planning Act requires that an Official Plan be reviewed to ensure that the Plan is consistent with the most current Provincial and District land use planning policy and legislation, and provides the opportunity to ensure it continues to reflect matters of interest to the community.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO REPEAL DESIGNATION BY-LAW UNDER SECTION 32 OF THE ONTARIO HERITAGE ACT, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.18

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Gravenhurst has repealed by-law 84-122 which designated The White/Augustine House, located at 1633 Highway 11 S in the Town of Gravenhurst, District Municipality of Muskoka, under Section 32 of the Ontario Heritage Act (R.S.O 1990, Ch. O. 18). The By-law to repeal the designation by-law was considered by Gravenhurst Town Planning Council at its regular meeting to be held at 5:00 p.m. on October 18th, 2016. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION is available at the Planning Department in the Municipal office during office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday). For further information, please contact Jeremy Rand, Planner at 705-687-3412 Ext. 246. Any person may send by registered mail or deliver to the Clerk of the Town of Gravenhurst notice of their objection to the proposed designation together with a statement of the reasons for the objection and all relevant facts. If such a Notice of Objection is received, the Council of the Town of Gravenhurst will refer the matter to the Conservation Review Board for a hearing.

A KEY MAP is not provided as the Official Plan affects the entire Town of Gravenhurst.

No objections to the designation were received by the municipality.

ANY PERSON OR AGENCY may attend and provide representation at the Public Meeting and/or make written representation prior to the meeting, either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed Official Plan. Written submissions can be submitted to the official listed below.

IF A PERSON or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Gravenhurst before the proposed Official Plan is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of the Council of the Town of Gravenhurst on the proposed official plan, you must make a written request to the official at the address listed below.

On Saturday November 26, road closures will be in effect due to the Gravenhurst Santa Claus Parade. Muskoka Road from Main street, to Isaac will be closed from approximately 9:30 AM untill 12:30 PM. North and South traffic will be completely blocked but East & West cross streets will be open until the parade begins around 11 AM. Parking will not be permitted anywhere on Muskoka Rd. from Veterans Way to Isaac Street and will be signed. By-law staff will be canvassing the downtown core making businesses aware of restrictions. No Parking signage will be erected on November 25.

The Town is seeking candidates with a working knowledge or background in finance or technology.

THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the new Official Plan is to update the Town’s current Official Plan as a result of the Town’s Five Year Official Plan Review. The new Official Plan is intended to be consistent with all current provincial plans, policies and legislation and in conformity with the District of Muskoka Official Plan. In addition, the new Official Plan incorporates policies identified through the review process and public input.

IF A PERSON or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Gravenhurst before the proposed Official Plan is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Town of Gravenhurst or the District of Muskoka to the Ontario Municipal Board.
