Gravenhurst Lions Sports Hall of Fame The Gravenhurst Lions Sports Hall of Fame has been established through a generous contribution from the Gravenhurst Lions Club to publicly recognize Gravenhurst citizens who have achieved or contributed significantly to sport and/or sport development locally and beyond. A Council appointed Committee has been established to manage the display of annual inductee recipients as well as other related items of individual and/or team sport significance for the awareness and enjoyment of visiting patrons. The Town of Gravenhurst is seeking three (3) individuals to fill vacancies on the Gravenhurst Lions Sports Hall of Fame Committee for the remainder of this term of Council ending November 30, 2018. In order to be eligible for appointment, the individual must be: • A Canadian Citizen; • A Resident of Gravenhurst; AND • Must not be an employee of the Town of Gravenhurst Interested applicants should provide a letter expressing their interest, as well as a brief biography outlining past experience and involvement with community groups and committees to the undersigned no later than 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015. There is no remuneration for this position.

The awards are meant to recognize property owners for their efforts and to encourage other residents and businesses to upgrade and beautify their properties. You are encouraged to nominate any front yard gardens or landscapes in Gravenhurst, visible from the road, that you feel have added to the sense of pride that you have for our community. Forms can be found at the Town Office, Centennial Centre, Muskoka Lakes Gardens & More and Home Hardware Garden Centre. Nominations can be also be submitted Online at www.gravenhurst.ca. and will be accepted until Friday, July 10 Volunteers from the Gravenhurst Horticultural Society will be judging and awarding gardens on Thursday, July 16th starting at 9 am. Through Communities In Bloom, six top gardens will receive a special recognition and prize pack.
