*Call to Worship Pastor: Christ came to bring us salvation and has promised to come again. Let us pray that we may be ready to welcome him. People: Come, Lord Jesus! Pastor: That the keeping of Advent may open our hearts. People: Come, Lord Jesus! Pastor: That the light of Christ may penetrate the darkness of sin. People: Come, Lord Jesus! Pastor: That this Advent wreath may constantly remind us to prepare for the coming of Christ. People: Come, Lord Jesus!

PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING *Processional Hymn #234 *Affirmation of Faith

O Come, All Ye Faithful

ADESTE FIDELIS A Modern Affirmation

Pastor: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare. All: We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, power, and love, whose mercy is over all his works, and whose will is ever directed to his children's good. We believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of man, the gift of the Father's unfailing grace, the ground of our hope, and the promise of our deliverance from sin and death. We believe in the Holy Spirit as the divine presence in our lives, whereby we are kept in perpetual remembrance of the truth of Christ, and find strength and help in time of need. We believe that this faith should manifest itself in the service of love as set forth in the example of our blessed Lord, to the end that the kingdom of God may come upon the earth. Amen.

Chancel Choir The Christ-child lay on Mary’s lap, His hair was like a light. (O weary, weary were the world, but here is all aright.) The Christ-child lay on Mary’s breast, His hair was like a star. (O stern and cunning are the kings, but here the true hearts are.) The Christ-child lay on Mary’s heart, His hair was like a fire. (O weary, weary is the world, but here the world’s desire.)
