HOLY WEEK: THE WEEK THAT CHANGED THE WORLD
CHILDREN IN POVERTY MISSION STUDY Join us for a study on poverty which recognizes that faithful and effec ve ministry with the poor - especially with our children - engages our hearts, heads and hands. This study is sponsored by UMW
In a week’s me a lot can change can’t it? Couples can go from being single to united in marriage. A baby can be born. A person can get word at work that they are either being promoted, moved, or let go. Tragedy can strike. There can be a change at the highest levels of government. Things can happen that can forever change our lives. Of course, for those of us who are Chris ans, we believe that there is one week that stands head and shoulders above all others. It is Holy Week. During Holy Week, Jesus went from being greeted by the crowds to being crucified to be resurrected from the dead. For the Chris an, that week more than any other is the week that changed the world. Beginning this morning and con nuing through Tuesday evening we are delighted to have with us, Dr. Charles R. Page, II. He is the Academic Dean of the Jerusalem Ins tute for Biblical Explora on. While from Tennessee, he spends a significant por on of each year in Israel excava ng. He has taught courses to thousands of students on Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Greece, and Turkey. He has spent more than 40 years exploring ancient sites throughout the Middle East. This week, he will be with us to talk about “The Week That Changed The World.” He will start this morning in the Asbury Room at both 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Then staring tonight (7:00-9:00 p.m.) and con nuing through Tuesday night he will be presen ng in the Fellowship Hall. He will be discussing such subjects as “Miracles and Ministry in Judea,” “The Last Supper,” “The Trial of Jesus,” “The Resurrec on of our Lord,” and several others.

Youth Choir; Mark Lamback, director; David Dooli le, piano We’ll build a land where we bind up the broken; We’ll build a land where the cap ves go free, where the oil of gladness dissolves all our mourning; we’ll build a promised land that can be. We’ll build a land where we bring good dings to all the afflicted and those who will mourn. We’ll give them garlands instead of ashes. We’ll build a land where peace is reborn! Refrain: O come build a land where sisters and brothers anointed by God then create peace, Where jusƟce shall flow down like the water, and peace, peace like an ever flowing stream. We’ll build a land where those who go hungry are given the food that makes a soul strong, restoring the balance to all of God’s children. Come build a land where all will belong! Refrain. Hallelujah, hallelujah! Peace flows down. We’ll build a land where cries of praises resound from spirits once faint and once weak, Where like oaks of righteousness stand her people. Come build a land, my people we seek! Refrain. Hallelujah, hallelujah! Peace flows down. Hallelujah!
