Dear Dunwoody United Methodist Church, On June 14, I will be commissioned as a Provisional Elder of the North Georgia United Methodist Conference. With that commissioning comes my first appointment as Associate Pastor of Northbrook United Methodist Church. Know that I am sad to leave my home here at DUMC, but excited to go home to a church I was a part of in elementary school. I am so grateful to everyone here. When I arrived as a summer youth intern 5 years ago, I had no idea what would come next. I never saw myself as a youth director, let alone a Methodist minister. I had simply answered a call to go on some mission trips in the summer of 2012. But a er countless retreats, mission trips, and Catan game nights at the church, I have discovered my call. Indeed, the youth and families of this church have helped me realize my call to ministry. Because of you, I have accepted and stepped into the next stages of my call to ministry. Thank you to all the youth for the constant craziness. Thank you families for accep ng me as one of your own. Thank you staff and clergy for walking with me as I learned how to do ministry. And a huge thank you to each of the Youth Staff. Thank you Josh Amerson for your kind leadership. Thank you Patricia Clark for always being willing to jump into anything. Thank you Montana Hamby for being the calm in every room. And thank you Karen Bass for leading with a faith that constantly reassures me and so many others, “Everything will be okay.” It has been an honor to serve the people of DUMC. Thank you for everything!
