MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT - YOUTH SUNDAY All of God’s people are ordinary people who have been made extraordinary by the purpose he has given them. -Oswald Chambers

For many, middle school and high school can feel like time in the wilderness. So much is changing, there is a lot to learn and keep up with, and we are trying to figure out how to fit in with the crowd and yet still be ourselves. In the midst of this wilderness journey, God does something extraordinary. God calls us, names us, and gives us purpose. DUMC is blessed to be filled with youth who are discovering this call to discipleship and beginning to live out their mission of being leaders in the church and servants of Christ in the world. Today we celebrate the gifts that God has given them and give thanks to the One who brings us out of the wilderness and into the land of promise.

THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER Invitation Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

Prayer of Confession Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Promise of Pardon Leader: Hear the good news; Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! People: In the name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven! Glory to God. Amen.

SENDING FORTH

The Great Thanksgiving Leader: The Lord be with you. People: And also with you. Leader: Lift up your hearts. People: We lift them up to the Lord. Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right to give our thanks and praise. Leader: It is right and a good and joyful thing... People:
