Credo

SINE NOMINE

Credo (from Mass in G) Schubert I believe in one God, Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages, God of God, light of light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and became incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary and was made man. And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again, according to the scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Ghost, the lord and life-giver, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is adored and glorified, who spake by the prophets, and in one holy catholic and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins, and I expect the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

*Scripture Lesson Sermon

2 Timothy 4:6–8 A Life Worth Living

(The Bottom Line, Part 2)

Cal Stowell Rev. Josh Amerson

THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER Invitation

Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

Prayer of Confession

Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Promise of Pardon Leader: People: All:

Hear the good news; Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ you are forgiven! Glory to God. Amen.

Announcements MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT — STEPHEN MINISTRY

Dunwoody UMC is fortunate to have 19 highly trained individuals serving as Stephen Ministers to our congregation and community. Stephen Ministers are congregation members who volunteer their time to provide one-to-one Christian care. They are prayerfully and intentionally matched with a person who has expressed a desire for their support. The Stephen Minister meets weekly to listen, care, encourage and provide emotional and spiritual support to the person with whom they are matched. The caring, confidential relationship lasts as long as the person is in need of care. Stephen Ministers meet monthly for supervision and continuing education. We are thankful for the 26 years that this ministry has been active at DUMC. For more information, contact Pat DeBolt at 770-396-6836 or stephenministry@ dunwoodyumc.org.
