The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.Be to the Father Glory 71 Glory Hymn Be to the Father

Announcements MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT – FOODSTOCK 2018 Saturday, August 11 Dunwoody UMC, in partnership with Rise Against Hunger and Simpsonwood UMC, bring together 1,200 community volunteers to assemble 300,000+ dehydrated meals for children in need across the globe. This number will match or eclipse the largest effort of its kind in metro Atlanta for Rise Against Hunger. The result fills a shipping container (20 tons of food) and it is shipped immediately to those in need. With a successful Foodstock event this year, we will near the 2,500,000 meal mark in our history with Rise Against Hunger. Come be a part of this wonderful event and this historic mark. All ages are welcome to volunteer. Volunteers sign up to work in two-hour shifts, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Register for one or more shifts. Pick your shift at www.foodstock.us
WORSHIP
July Sermon Series — Practicing a Life of Prayer More than any other spiritual practice, Jesus turned to prayer throughout his life and ministry. We will spend four weeks gathered around the subject of prayer in hopes that we might all learn more about this sacred discipline and grow to practice it our whole life long. July 15, The Power of Prayer, James 5:13–18; July 22, The Persistence of Prayer, Luke 18:1–18; July 29, The Product of Prayer, Mark 14:32–36. Sanctuary Renovation Construction is progressing well. The initial focus is the “behind the scenes” work, including foundation and structural reinforcements. Work in the administrative area of the church will support the additional weight of the organ in the Chancel. Structural work in the Sanctuary ceiling will provide support for video screens and acoustic banners. For the safety of our congregation the construction areas are sealed off. If you have any questions, please contact Bob Preston, Building Committee Chair at rpreston@ theprestonpartnership.com or 770-330-3412.
