The Apostles’ Creed

GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Revisiting Our Roots Every story begins somewhere – ours begins in the Old Testament. Join DUMC this January and February for an exploration of some of the most beloved stories of the Hebrew Scriptures. We will learn from familiar figures and prophetic voices as we dig deep into the roots of our faith to discover who we are and how God wants us to live.

Love Offering for Rev. C.G. (Sonny) Walden On Sunday, Jan. 12, DUMC’s Minister of Music, Sonny Walden, will retire after years of devoted service. We at DUMC would like to show our appreciation for Rev. Sonny and his ministry with a love offering. If you would like to join the DUMC community in honoring Sonny with your gifts, you may do so online at dunwoodyumc.org/give (select “Love Offering” in the “Fund” drop-down menu). You can also make a contribution by check payable to Dunwoody United Methodist Church; simply write “Love Offering” in the memo line. Please be sure that the church receives your contribution before Sunday, Jan. 5.

YEAR-END GIVING

Please Consider Making a Financial Gift by Dec. 31 As we celebrate the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ, please take a moment to review your giving in 2019. Your year-end gifts are a significant part of the support for the mission and ministries of DUMC. Gifts made by cash or check may be placed in the offering plate, or mailed to the church business office. Gifts by credit/debit card or ACH transfer may be made online at dunwoodyumc.org/give. Gifts of stock may be transferred to the church’s brokerage account. For IRS tax purposes, all gifts must be received at the church or in a church account by Dec. 31, or if mailed, postmarked by midnight on Dec. 31. If you have any questions about an outstanding pledge, giving record or about gifting stock, please contact our Chief Operating Officer at roger.young@dunwoodyumc.org or 770-542-1662. Thank you for helping to make Dunwoody UMC a dynamic Christian community of fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
