Jimbo’s offering a quality approach to men’s barber shop customs and old fashioned customer service While I was grabbing a coffee the other day, I heard a roar of laughter coming from the shop next door. Peering in I saw some young guys with groomed beards having the time of their lives cutting hair while chuckling with clients and chatting to others lined up waiting. Intrigued I had to know more. Speaking to James Holder the owner I found out it all started ten years ago when Jimbo as he’s better known these days, moved his family from Melbourne where his love for the already emerging sub culture of the modern day barbers had begun. Settling in he kicked off a modest start setting up one chair in the quiet corner of a local surf shop.

Jimbo quickly built a great relationship with the young groomed conscious and soon not only cutting their hair but also looking after their dads and even grandfathers. He became well known for his vibrant personality and quick-witted humor. Jimbo soon outgrew the small corner moving to the current location in the middle of the vibrant Clarence Street café strip. Jimbo’s now has five chairs which are constantly full with a mixed crowd of blokes wanting some entertainment from the crew of five young barbers while offering the latest trends in men’s styling and grooming. Jimbo’s prices are very reasonable. He also looks after many old timers who have been searching for an impressionable audience to share some of their past stories, which usually puts most of the young guys to shame. So, next time you need a quick trim, beard styled or want to experience an old fashion cut throat shave, call in and meet the boys for a laugh and an overall enjoyable experience.
