“Passion for Architecture pushes me to changes. Exploring different ways of approaching the project, I am constantly seeking for gaining new knowledge through reading, drawing, modeling and the opportunity for practice. Simplicity and clear interpretation influence and inspire my work, and I have the interest for juxtaposition of marrying existing with the new and the brutal, pushing the expansion of space efficiently. 14th / June / 1992 0479 010 343 jason.tran.architecture@gmail.com issuu.com/jasontran9 Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (at)

Graduated from University of Canberra with Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, I gained the technical skills in building a project with calculations, details and environmental analysis. My cirriculum had both technical and architectural background, the units are relevant to Building Design, Urban Planning, Drafting, Structure Engineering, Thermal & Environmental Control, Sustainability, Australian Green Star Rating System, etc. I consolidated my design skills by using the most required 2D and 3D software as well as rendering programs, and expectedly, through opportunities for real-life practice, I will continue to build a more solid skill. Ultimately, I wish to learn more about technical details, hands-on and client-based experience.

Architecture & Design Studio The project proposes a studio for architecture pratices, including students, designers and architects working together under one roof. It focuses on creating a junction of passing ideas to amalgamate ideas and inspiring students, designers and architects to their highest potential. Design result is the pop-up of pure white elevated within mixture of different architecture styles as a cavas to creativity.

site

The site has seen many changes over past decades. The most noticeable is the changing demographics and the intrusion of the commercial enterprises. The front view shows the clear sub-division of the age of architecture in styles, although the public spaces were limited within busy street. By utilizing the existing open space to create more recess open space, it activates the new “infilling public space, creating a relieve into the street overall. Celebrate the diversity instead of trying to fight it, the new minimalistic and modern design introduces an intervention and adaptation to the hyper and maneuverable scene.

... a silent approach ... within the noise ... “I don’t believe architecture has to speak too much. It should remain silent and let nature in the guise of sunlight and wind”

-Tadao Ando-

Braddon Urban Bathhouse Classic concrete design is the driving force. In response to Brandon’s growth and constantly redeveloping urban lifestyle, the urban bathhouse is inspired by the monumental gesture reflecting on the Canberra capital precincts. “I like ruins because what remains is not the total design, but the clarity of thought, the naked structure, the spitir of the thing

-Tadao Ando-

I intent to show PURE form through minimal design composition styled to make a privative but NAKED architecture. Following axis, space is divided into public and private, which are linked as well as divided by a thick wall. The exaggerating movements painted a monolithic structure. Concrete maintains its contrast to the site, but also proposes a sense of privacy within an urbanised area. One single material flows throughout the exterior and interior, linking all bathing activities, dripping water sound, vapor, it transcend people into one after another-spiritual realm.

Contemporary Canberra House This is a baisc studio project aims to develop our understaniding of a contemporary design in Canberra’s dry climate environment. The architecture follows a pramatic approach that optimised the design and performance according to context.

Hearth Linear - Planar Volumetric The brief is to design an residential observatory using the site typology based on the shored of Lake Burleigh Griffin Exploring the architectonics of line, plane and volume. Using the horizonal and vertical movement, we investigate the perceptual dimensions of object of field. The formal and spacial potentialities of linear, planar, and volumetric compositions are underscored for an understanding of courtyard and tower typologies. Demontrated an understanding of design issues involved with small scale architecture style Design strategies that explore circulation with form, volume and purpose Interpret design concepts in response to site and orientation

Consistency, continuity throughout the 3 stages. The connection of style without the obvious use of materials
