Library Lecture Architecture Construction The Architectural Campus is defined by four buildings: Library, Lecture, Architecture and Construction. Each building provides different programs and fuctions for students to fullfill their needs.
P E R M EAT I ON China has 5000 years history and its philosophy, such as Taoism, has a strong concern of the spiritual relationship between society and nature. We believe the chinese history and their philosophy are the essence of architecture in China. Permeation is an architecture campus that represents the tranformation of chinese architecture, through bringing the forgotten past to present.
The architectural campus is located in Southern China. with a river at the south site , which is a designated situation to settle down, according to Feng Shui.
Since we have the theme of transformation, the sense of windmill reveals on the site. Programs in each buidling can be shifted that can provide accessiblility for students.
Reconsider about the traditional Chinese planning, The axial line is the main access in each building. Buildings are connected with their external access bridges.
=Superstructure Repeated around the entire site, the superstructure takes influence from the traditional Chinese wood joinery systems.
CONCEPT MODEL The concept model can be described as primitive and primitive only for it utilizing wood structure, inspirated by the Ancient Chinese Construction Method. Also, the idea of suspend structure is the rennovation of the ancient, since the length of the suspension can create a flexibility for the sunscreen panels. Therefore, through this method, there is a potential to make a dynamic space, while the panels still have the same quality of their function.

Wall Panels The skeleton of the exterior wall panels made out of bamboo are positioned based on data fom the hottest months of the year (July). West wall-panels are lower to accommodate the setting sun shining atan angle of 53 degrees, same with the east wall panels ready to block the risiing suns rays, both north and south have higher panels than west and east to account for the daytime sun at 78- degrees.
PROGRAMS Usually buildings are designed with specific users in mind, with all the users needs combine into one structure, these groups never actually need to leave the building. As a result, connecting each site with its two neigbours via an exterior bridgestudents are brought out of buildings with the use of switching some programs with the building across the courtyard. For example, te lecture hall has a small library in tit to draw students from the library through either the construction or Architecture building into the lecture hall. The Architecture buildingalso has a construction lab which is typically in a more research based building like the construction building. The strategy of programming does not only object the student life of isolation but touches upon the role of architecture bearing social responsibility.

TRANS Thesis, 4th Year OCAD Universit y
TRANS A renovation project locates on an abandon railway in the Lower Don River. Trans is an educational community centre with the combination of the industry that recycle plastic with the 3D printing technology. Through the transparency of spaces and orbservation, public can be acknowledged how 3D printing technology can benefit to the society and the recycling industry.
The reason why plastic has to be recycled is that there is about 90% of plastic waste still floating on the ocean’s surface, and there are 46,000 pieces of plastic per square mile. Base on the research, these amount of plastic can be recycled into resources, such as, electricity, industrial product, construction material, etc. Therefore, it has a great potential to be one of the main recycle material for society and it is important to acknowledge the public how this waste can be a new resource for them.
Since the main focus for this project is about recycling and education, TRANS has used the recycled HDPE reinforced plastic truss as the structure of the roof, the recycled PVC is used as the siding of the roof, and recycled PC (Polycarbonate) as a replacement of the glass. Therefore, most part of TRANS is constructed by recycled plastic, except the foundation, floor slab and column.

The Lower Don Lands, closes to the Lakeshore Boulevard East and Waterfront, are going to be constructed as a residential area. The industrial facilities, therefore, have to moved away. At the south of the lakeshore, the Keating Channel, the future will be turned into condomium and community space according to the develpment from Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. The existed garbage and recycling companies, such as JCo Junk and GFL, are neccessary to be shifted to the other area in Toronto. Therefore, instead of moving the recycling industries away, I come up with an idea to combine the garbage and recycling industry with the public community spaces as an educational purpose.
The Lower Don River Trail is a bicycle path which is located along the Don River. Along that path, there is an abandon train tracks beside the GO Transit Don Yard. However the site willl be transformed into a park, according to the development proposal from the government. Although the abandon train will be removed, My project will ask to keep it for the material transportation purpose. Since the site will become a park in the future, Trans will be the main community centre inside the park. Therefore, the space will be more open to the public as a park, instead of a bicycle path.
CIRCULATION
INDUSTRY PUBLIC
The industrial area and the public space creates an inner circle. Through the inner circle, it creates an interaction with a high transparency. This allow public to observe and understand how the recycling process in the industry.
INDUSTRY (control) PUBLIC INDUSTRY (execution) The idea is to divide the industry by the public space. So the pulic can understand the process and the execution in an industry through observation and communication.

February 13, 2014 A photography project analyzes the changes of the whole Queen Street, after the storm happening on February 13, 2014. Queen Street is a energetic street which represents excitement and happiness. The whole street consists of different type of shops and restaurants and it is one of the favourite street where most of Torontoist love to hang out on. After the storm, the street reveals its quietness and loneliness, and it is very rare to see this phenomenal beauty. Also, the changes defines a sub- conscious interaction between people, space and weather. In a way to create a sense of taking a street car ride, the whole set of photos were taken on a 501 street car and the feeling of the street is expressed through the window frame. Overall, The idea is to create a different experience of the Queen street in this street car ride.

PENTHOUSE MODEL SUITE The inspiration board is created based on the idea of the isolation inside a forest. Through the inspiration board, the design of the penthouse suite focuses on creating a private and restful space for the user. Therefore , the colour tone of the design simulates the nature, which I believe it is the essence of comfort

THE NOODLES On BULWER The Noodles is a residential renovation project for a traditional Chinese woman who wants to have a private restaurant in her house located on the 37th Bulwer Street. Noodles is one of the essential food in China. Making noodles can be considered as a motion art. There is an aesthetic when the chief crafts noodle out from a dough. Therefore, I have the idea of craft the space out from noodles. In this project, I have to maintain 50% of the existed structure of the house and focus on how to use the curvy form to separates spaces in the ground level. At the same time, I can use these wood element to create the sun screen for the residence.

818 Since the land property is constantly rising , Studio 818 is a temporary housing project that produces young professionalist a living space in the downtownarea. In a way to create an extra living space in a high density location, the solution is to create a second storey platform above parking lots. each parking spot can provide one single unit. Within a 8’ by 18’ space, each users can obtain a double-sided bed, a compact kitchen, a work station and a bathroom. Flexible and movable furniture are used to maximize the interior of each unit.
Using compact, movable furnitures to create an extra functional space in this small unit.
