Using whatever means necessary (BAMN) produce a 24 page zine in a limited edition of at least ten impressions. • The content should be derived from some aspect of your london study trip. • The content must be addresses to a target audience • The editorial approach must be clear; a fanzine, a catalogue, a manifesto an essay etc. You are to bring your product to market via the megaZINE.
Evaluation
While in speakers corner I was thinking of what kind of museum I could go to base my zine on, to help me I started out with a brainstorm, to begin with I was going to look into evolution, so I headed to the Science Museum. Once there I went next door to The Natural History Museum. I began to take photos and sketching the bones from the prehistoric dinosaur to the modern day animal. With some research, the most interesting was how each era was categorised in to sections at first it was hard to understand it all, so this was the best way to create my zine to make it easier to understand the different eras. Initial my first attempt to create a few page of the zine was not interesting enough and lacked colour and creativity. The feed back given helped me to tweak a few things and to change the whole evolution of bone to history of bones. Also one of the feedback was about not understanding the bottom part even though it is self explanatory so I coloured the bones in the right era, so that the Triassic Era was all in orange and the Jurassic Period was in Red. If I could do this again I would add information about each species and include the name of it. I would also like to emboss one of the image to include on the front cover and I would bond the zine in a creative way. Also I would print out the final version when its offically finished.

Evaluation
By producing a pechakucha style presentation of images to show who I am within one minute, which limited myself to talk about each topic within the selected time. In the end I managed to present my pechakucha within the one minute, which shows that I have well time management.

Evaluation
In a group o three we started to write out a brainstorm to come up with an idea for us to do. We want to make some sort of parody involving something boring like politics and something funny like a music video and involve the two together. The idea of having Boris Johnson and the music of Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen but changing the words to relate to the Mayor of London. The idea was good we know that it was good we knew it was either be really good or just awful. The first feedback we had was that we needed to add an analogue image so in the end we all as a group draw Boris and choose the best. In the end it didn’t work well we could get the drawn image sync in with the words. If I could do this again I take more time on it and make sure that the video and the audio sync together. The purpose of this exercise was to get to know the different style of type.
Evaluation
The reason why I chose my final type, Tragan was because I like how the bowl of the “P” isn’t attach to the descender and also how the tail of the “j” goes beyond the descender line, as both are very rare to have this in normal type. So I wanted to look into it more closer.

Evaluation
The three methods of unfamiliar research I did was looking into people opinion on the Saul Bass, other people interpretation of his work and looking at his work in general. The first was looking at peoples views of Saul Bass by doing this I created different kind of typography. This showed me that people was very inspired by his work by looking at the thoughts. The second was to look at people work that had inspiration to Bass by doing this allow me to understand what different people got out of his work. The last was looking in-depth at Saul Bass work to look at his piece in a different perspective. This gave me more of an insight to his work and look at it in a unusual viewpoint. By choosing to look at different perspective in relation to others allow me to look at a bigger narratives, structures and new contexts. This will also allow me to develop my ability to explore new methods and themes that can inform my own work.

METHOD
1. Working as a team of two, consider carefully the implications of your answers to these questions before choosing what to brand. 2. Devise a stance and strategy accordingly. 3. Present in pitch format ways to develop a campaign that will realise the goals and values of the brand. 4. Publish or disseminate the campaign using a full range of media, formats and channels documenting the process, and the outcome.
Evaluation
In pairs the brief was to create an unbranded natural form and brand it through screen based formats. Our unbranded form was the moon, we came up with names for our brand, the chosen name was Luna which is Latin for moon, at first we spelt it “lunar” because that is how we write it today but we decided to spell it without the “r” to keep the Latin idea. We spend a lot of time thinking of logo designs, as we couldn’t get it just right, because in the feedback the type was legible enough. The concept we had was to brand bedding because the form “moon” relates to sleep. Later on we both decided to brand it even further to get a more depth audience, in the end we settled for festival night ware, as we thought that in our society most young teenagers goes to festival.

Evaluation
Majority of the feedback was that the logo was not legible enough, so we changed it completely to be able to read it. Other comments were useful as thinking of how we can advertise it more, how we can develop the mascot idea. Another good idea that we got out of it was to create a bed time story I really thought this was a good idea but as it didn’t fit into our festival themed bedding the idea was forgotten. The final pieces that we had was a range of branded materials such as bedding, pillows, tents, carpet, key rings and wristbands. In addition there was mascot to advertise the festivals and a feather-shaped lamp that would go onto the tent poll for visibility. In the final critique we found out that our targeted audience wasn’t thought out well because people was saying that it look like it would be expensive and people who goes to festival would buy cheap things as it wont matter if it doesn’t get dirty. If I could do this again I would scrap the whole festival idea because I don’t thing it works that well and continue the traditional bedding theme with pillows, covers, lamps, teddies and bed time stories.

Evaluation
The concept of having three version and variations is to look at a piece of work in different alternative perspective which allows us to reinterpret this in many ways. The first version was in an onomatopoeia style to depict what was happening using only one word which limited myself. The second was of a cartoon version which was very simple and plain. The last was in a different language of Latin, I thought that this was a different and unique approach.

BRIEF
Take a mundane event that you have experienced or witnessed and retell and represent this story adding significance and meaning.
Method
The final outcome must be resolved as an A2 format (colour or b/w).
Evaluation
Thinking of a topic so boring but still being able to retell it was at first hard but as I looked into it I found it effortless. My chosen mundane story was of me brushing my teeth. I started by drawing ideas of this concept, and the best way I thought to depict it showing the times of each different brush movement. I timed myself of brushing my teeth to show an accurate account of my routine. I found creating a Infographic was the best way of depicting this. The mundane concept was to come up with a boring story and recreate it to communicate a new story within a different perspective to make it more interesting. This allows me to look into and interpret different and new ways of thinking and seeing. From the feed back I found it was very positive with light suggestion like to use fewer colours and stick with shades of the same colour. If I could do this again I would include a title and make the clock in the middle smaller so that the images can be bigger to be able to view it clearer.

Develop a publishing company that will only exist for a fortnight.Why it only exists for this time is up to you.Think of a reason for this limited shelf life, and publish accordingly. You must have a name and a brand for your publishing house.Think about the definition of publishing, then redefine it for the future. Publish at least one thing.
Evaluation
By developing a publishing company that will only exist for a fortnight was at first tricky especially within a group of three to argue with a concept but in the end with idea after ideas we came up with the theme of people turning in to people. With this we look into how we communicate and I thought that we could do a mashup-style of humans and animal as-one. I remember researching an artist who does this style using photography and Photoshop in college called Antoine Herbet. Using the research I found the best way to communicate the animal and the human as one was to align physical feature with each other, like eyes, mouths and facial muscle. The first feedback we had was that we look to much into branding a product then the whole concept itself. From this feedback we created a second brainstorm. From this with the help with the suggestions of the critique we then came up with the idea of trying to help and prep people with this we created a magazine to help with topic of location, advice and meet ups. We also gave a link to a online quiz we did to help find out what animal within that you would be.

Evaluation
From the feedback to people taking the quiz was positive but with a few people being upset because of their personal animal like “why am I a clownfish”. I tried to make it fair by not putting too many mammals so I did four mammals (dog, monkey, dolphin and a tiger), two birds (hawk and a owl), two fishes (shark and a clownfish), three Reptiles (Snake, alligator and a tortoise), one amphibian (frog) and two arthropods (bee and a spider) which added to 14 different species to go with the 14 days. We did thing of having animals that would relate to your country so America be a bald eagle and Australia would be a kangaroo but we thought it would be more interesting to do the animal that would best suit you. In the final critique it was fairly positive but we was to talking too much about the personality quiz rather than the prepping magazine which shine a light off it. If I could do this again I would change the idea completely and make it more believable cause I found the best outcome came from the people with believe yet creative idea. Also I would liked to create the app but £500 and lack of knowledge on the subject I just found it to hard.

BRIEF
To come up with a promotional stunt to promote the new Talisker Storm Whisky.
Evaluation
Within in a pair we began a brainstorm with this we wanted to come up with unique but realistic promo stunt. Couple of ideas we had was a gaint bottle that would give you tumbler size whisky to give out testers (similar to a vodka dispenser) and a Wesley Whisky mascot to go around with testers. In the end we thought of a horizontal bungee which would have two (or more) paths connected to a bungee where you have to run to drink the Talisker Storm Whisky with only one winner. With this, this will bring people together with a bit of fun and games and to get the young adult audience interested. The activity would also include industry fans to blow leaves, vibration and sounds of a storm, to get the feel of a storm within the game. we also would have made a app version for people who couldn’t make the event for them to get involved. The feedback we got was positive as we came second I feel that if we got into more depth into it and explain it more we could of came first.

Each brief was completely different and broad enough which allowed me to have various ideas and outcomes so there was a lot to choose from within a space of time. This unit has been a learning process for me, to understand that I need to have a faster pace on the one and two week brief because I feel that for the work that need to be completed within the week period doesn’t give you a lot of time to completely finish but this depends on how you want to tackle them, for example in the first week I was sketching each bones drawing and include colour as well within a week, this didn’t help because I always try to go beyond to get the best outcome, this doesn’t always work out for me but I learnt from this like with the video edit, trying to get the exact single words from different video was hard cause it didn’t always sound right but I persevered knowing that this was a good idea and that my efforts would pay off. I have used a range of methods available to me and have articulate my awareness of the wider social, political and ethical debates that impact upon my work. My strongest brief I found was the Zine, though I haven’t completely finished I feel that the use of colour and layout worked well with each other with me categorising each era to its own colour. It also shows that my drawing skills have improved. Also I felt that the brief that I did in the lab week worked well with coming up with a unique promotional stunt, I believe that the ideas that I came up with was on point and I realised that this was in my comfort zone. Another one was the two week brief the whole thing was such a learning curve. Within the feedback that was given I eventually understood that we should never just look at the product but more into the idea and concept, I will take notice of this in the future.
Evaluation The weakest part of this unit was my video edit, as much as I tried to persevere with it because of the lack of syncing of both visual and audio the final outcome didn’t work out as plan. The timings of the one week briefs I found difficult cause I also try to push myself harder to succeed better but doing this made me not finish it within a week and trying to overlap with other project to improve and finish. I have also learnt that over thinking a concept can lose focus on the main objective, which I learnt on the biography brief by playing around in Photoshop for a few minutes effortlessly creating a piece that got me positive feedback from others. Or with the 2 week brief, over thinking of creating a product made me lose focus of the concept, I learnt that something that can a couple of minutes and just be as good as something that took you a week. If I could do this unit again I would use more techniques like laser cutting, screen printing and embossing to show off my skills that I have already used in the past. I would also change the video edit completely because that was a shambles I would like to look at more simple idea because something to complicated can ruin the concept. Another was timing, I would try and finish within the right time instead of continuing into another brief what would then again make me go over the next brief etc.
