GHANA HIGH COMMISSION CHANCERY
Introduction
This is an alterations and extension to an exisitng dilapitated residential house to a Chancery complex for the Ghana High Commission with 12 no. offices for senior officials, a 300 pax press room, a 15 pax executive boardroom , the High Commissioner's office suite, terraces, parking and an elaborate gate house
Sustainability Approach
Due to the fact that the complex has photovoltaic solar panels, it is energized primarily by solar power, with the national utility power provider Kenya Power as a first backup then a generator as a second back up We had the opportunity to reduce the carbon footprint owing to the fact that this was an additions, alterations and renovations project A large portion of the material of the substructure was recycled waste from demolitions. Only 2 no. trees were fell, in order to preserve the local fauna and to keep intact the larger Karura ecosystem

· Concept design and outline proposals in form of presentation drawings

· Presentations to the client's project team
· Schematic design drawings and submitted to Kiambu County for planning permission
· Detailed design and production drawings and circulated with the Quantity Surveyor for production of Bills of quantities
· Carried out value engineering together with the Quantity Surveyor
· Contract administration ongoing by carrying out inspections on site, chairing site meetings, preparing and circulating and site meeting minutes
We successfully responded to an EoI and RFP to be successfully awarded the project to design a mordern iteration of the motor vehicle inspection and driver testing centre at NTSA Likoni Road, in Thika Makongeni This is A 3600m2 complex consisitng of a motor vehicle inspecton warehouse, customer service halls, administrative offices, a computer lab for driving school students, a simulator room with 50 no simulators, and a maneouvre yard The motor vehicle inspection warehouse features 6 no testing lanes for vehicles with 5 no inspection pits and 1 no hyraulic lift; all lanes have brake testing equipment, vehicle recognition equipment, play detectors, beam testing equipment, computers and printers
