Design Proposal: Thi s p ro j e c t i s a n i n v es tig atio n fo r a new urban pro to t ype of solar powered towers. Using sola r energy a s a main driving fa ctor, t h e proj e c t u t i li z e s S u n to addr es s t he 2 main as pect s o n E nergy: minimize energy consumption through system a nd geometry, an d ma x i mi z e e n e r g y g e nerat io n thro ug h t he g ain of s olar radia tion. Therefore, this project propose a solar collector tower through t h e ma n i p u l a t i on a n d multiplicat io n o f ho rizo nt al s ur faces as the optimum sola r angle range between 0- 20 degrees. The main idea i s to d ev e lo p t h e se t e r races both as a renewable energ y s ource and an elevated urba n greenery which ca n coexist.

However, somewhere between these poles, ther e is a l o t o f p ot e n t i a l to trans f orm this urban neg ative s p ace tha t will “b ri dge� the communities together. Situating where va riou s ne t w or ks i n t h e c i t y inter s ect, t his pro ject aims to es t ab lish a huma n infra structure tha t acts as an element of cohesion for th e ne i g h b or h oo d s, w h il e als o introduce a junctio n where people can get around public tra nspor tation of their choices.
TRANSIT HUB + URBAN ACTIVATOR With the site being w here various netw ork s of the c i t y intersec t (train, w ater taxi, c ars and buses), the proje c t aims to establish an “ i nf i ni te journe y ” w hic h enga ge an existing infrastruc ture w ith urban transit systems . The project star ted with 3 similar L-shaped forms oriented to create various experiential moments of entering through various programmatic buildings.

The buildings interweave to create a shared communal spaces for the students during the day, which get transformed into a public plaza after school.
Orientation and site adjacency helps determine the programs for the project. The most private one situates by the elevated street way while the public ones face the plaza.

Design Proposal: S . H. A . D. E Pav i l i on i s a final pro ject of 1s t Y ear D es ig n Studio. The intent is to a llow students to understa nd how the basi cs o f st r u c t u r e s w o r k t hro ug h a hands -o n exper ience o f b uilding a full- scale pavilion. Throughout the preliminary design proces s , s t u d e n t s b ra i n sto r med vario us pat t er ns and co nf ig urat ions for the structure. Also, sea ting la youts, exterior screening experience , a s w e l l a s d i ffe r e n t t y pes of joint s and s ys t ems o f as s embly. Lastly, construction process began a t IIT model shop a nd took a rou n d 2- 3 w e e k s to c o mp l et io n.
